Meats are expensive where I live so I do my best not to have to waste meats.
Eating chicken a few days after expiring is something I would do but maybe for red meat 1 day at the very latest.

It would depend on how it was preserve and if it have a bad smell then no I wouldn't cook it for my family.
But if it has been well preserved and it doesn't have a bad smell I would completely clean it by washing it and try to boil the meat first.
But as much as I could I would avoid having those kind of meat for my family I wouldn't mind spending more money to secure their health rather than risking it by buying cheap meat at the market.

Idk.. Is it deep frozen in freezer or its just sitting in the ordinary refrigerator ?
I thing if you put it out from the freezer and you unfroze it there will be no problem, but if it sat in the refrigerator, definitely will not feet my self or my family.

It is better not to eat other animals, if only because our body is not adapted to such food (we do not have a high acidity of the stomach, we have a long small intestine (not short as in predators), we do not have large canines (as in predators or omnivores), we do not have claws, we do not have the sight that is needed to hunt other animals, we do not have that aggression (we do not want to attack a cow or a bunny when we see them).

You cannot take a risk of eating the expired food then be it anything and harm your health and others too whoever eats it. So instead look for alternatives which are fresh and healthy as well.

If the product expires today, then I will not eat this product, much less feed my family with it. Another thing is with frozen foods. Their shelf life is measured not in days, but in months. So if it's a frozen food, then I'll look at it after thawing. And then I will decide whether to cook it or not.

not only sounds dangerous! it really dangerous...Rotted flesh is very sensitive to outside air and will speed up the creation of worms plus the aroma produced by that meat is certainly very smelly. you better eat the other, don't sacrifice your family's health just because you want to be economical.

Meat never expires it decomposes. If you have kept your chicken in an airtight container and stored it in a freezer it will never decompose and hence it can be consumed. Those expiry dates do not make any sense unless the meat has been processed.
It depends why the chicken expired. If it was diseased, and then chlorinated, then I wouldn't eat it under any circumstances. In the past I've hung road kill pheasant until the maggots arrive, and they banged off the maggots, and cooked it. That is the way you get the true rich game flavour. I'm not sure that is advisable with most modern farm reared chickens though.

Companies are giving slack expiration dates for this reason. They want to protect their brands as well.

The date on the package is the minimum required date to be fresh. Companies don't want to get sued over bad meat so they always will take some days before the meat actually expires.
If the color is still normal and it doesn't smell very bad you can still eat it.
One tip would be to just put in the freezer right after buying it, if it takes a few days for you to prepare it. In the freezer it can be stored much longer.

I don't think meat expires, specially when kept in freeze. Like if it's gotten damaged then no, but surely the official date of meat expiry generally is very sooner than actually the meat is unconsumeable at all. Because it's non veg things, and also depends on which season it is tbh.

If the chicken stays in freezer?even if it is week expired that is still good to cook,But if it is exposed outside the freezer and just bring it back to freeze again then that might be contaminated and not good to eat.there are some process in locals in which the food has been left exposed to have bad smell before eating,but i dont do this practice lol.

Same day as expiry date is fine to eat, anything after beware. There's ways to tell if meat gone bad for specific meats but universally if it's slimy or smells off just throw it in the bin. Saving a few dollars on meat is NEVER worth the stomach ache and misery of eating bad meat. Just eat some ramen and be more mindful next time.

of course not, that would only make them sick...I would rather just give my family only rice or bread with soy sauce and chili than give them expired meat. giving my family to eat meat that has expired will only make me lose money because surely they will get a stomachache.
Just buy a new one. In the case that I had no choice, I would a bite or two. If my stomach is still ok a couple of hours later, then maybe I'll eat more.
