Maybe this is old news, but today I tried to sell a Whatsminer M3 on Ebay this morning. It got rejected stating that managed payment users (EBAY is forcing everyone to managed payment) are not allowed to sell virtual currency.
I argued (see transcript below) that I was selling a computer and not virtual currency, and that there were thousands of ASICS for sale.
Basically Ebay Person 3 said :Not for long, as everyone is converted to managed payments, the selling restrictions grow tighter, and miners will go away..
Ebay person 3 agreed to file a complaint for me, but would not give me an email address.
They did give me a snail mail address in case anyone REALLY wants to complain with me. It is at the end of the transcript.
Anyone else been cut off?

Im trying to sell a Whatsminer M3, for which there are about 6 for sale. It is a bitcoin miner. When I try to list it it says I can't because of managed payments.
I'm sorry to hear that you are unable to list this item. Let em check how we can help you
Ebay person
Upon reviewing, Sellers enrolled in managed payments are not allowed to list the following items: Auction services Gift cards & coupons Lodging, timeshares, vacation packages, and car rentals Tickets for travel, events, or experiences Virtual currency Wine
Ebay person
I’m not selling virtual currency,
I’m selling an electronic mining device
and there are others listed!
WE apologize since the only possible reason is that those members are not yet under Managed Payments.
Ebay person
there are thousands of bitcoin miners for sale such as the antminer s9
A3, L3, etc.
I believe ebay forced me into managed payments, right?
I need to ask a colleague in another department to step in on this issue. They specialize in dealing with this type of situation, so they'll be better able to help you resolve it. Please stay on the line and I will connect you over.

These items are listed under virtual Currency Toughit which is a blocked category with managed payments i am afraid
Ebay Person 3
but they are computer equipment, not virtual currency like bitcoin or ethereum. this is a computer!
Would it be OK to list it under electronics?
Allow me to check.
Ebay Person 3
Thanks Ebay Person 3
The correct the sub category for miners is still under Coins, Coins > Virtual Currency > Miners which I am afraid is a restricted category under managed payments I am afraid. A quick review of similar listings like this Toughit shows me that multiple listings similar to this have been removed also.
Ebay Person 3
so it is restricted Because it mines bitcoin, not that I am selling bitcoin?
How about this one, it is SPONSORED, so they pay you extra to sell it. 114737140810, there are 1280 similar to this listed right now,
all under the miner category. Why do you allow others to sell?
Yes, unfortunately the item itself does fall into the Coins > Virtual Currency > Miners category which is restricted on Managed Payments.
Ebay Person 3
These other sellers may not be yet activated on Managed Payments yet so they do not get the automatic block but we do have teams actively monitoring for such listings and they are being removed and accounts being restricted for repeated violations.

I will be sure to pass your information on Toughit. eBay are actively looking into these restricted categories regularly and updating them on a regular basis too.
Ebay Person 3
Who do I appeal to, this policy should be changed
Should be a request email address
I will find out for you now Toughit.
