Is there a good, viable alternative to Ebay in the UK? I'm selling (and sometimes buying) actual goods. Collectors lego more specifically. I know I could use Ebay/Craigslist/Gumtree etc and ask for payment in Bitcoin but I'm looking for genuine companies which promote the use of crypto.

Not as far as I know.

I'm sure there was talk a while back about Ebay and / or Paypal accepting BTC but haven't heard anything more.

Perhaps your best option might me to sell through regular existing websites then buy BTC with the money.

Not ideal but might have to do for now.

It's borderline impossible for a UK business to get a bank account so the actual retail scene is pitiful compared to the US.

Are you referring to a crypto currency based business attaining a bank account? It's very easy for any registered company to get a business bank account in the UK

So you mean that there is no service that can flat with EBAY. It is hard to believe, there are usually some markets for special goods, for example old things...

There's no shortage of classifieds sites and Amazon falls into that category as well, but auction sites with any traffic, no. There was one named Ebid which was the closest but it was an echo chamber in comparison.

There's not even a fiat Ebay competitor in the Uk, let alone a crypto one. It's borderline impossible for a UK business to get a bank account so the actual retail scene is pitiful compared to the US.

Open bazaar is a crypto only marketplace. It's not fully operational yet but that'll be an interesting option once it gets rolling.

Alternatively there's an active for sale section on here, you could announce yourself on r/bitcoin and you can set up your own website and SEO the hell out of it. Don't go expecting miracles. People aren't spending much at present.

I think it is better that you google possible services and then come here and ask  the opinions of the guys about the found services since there must be some services.
