Welcome to Miami!
$96,100?

I don't care who you are, Donald Trump, whatever, you have got to be supremely stupid to pay this much for something that is going to be out in a few weeks for 1/100 the price.

Oh  my Lord, someone actually bought it for US $96,100.00!!!

It was used for benching.  For the amount of traffic they get they might get that much from ads.

Are you implying techpowerup purchased the card? Because the source is some asian site which they list at the bottom. There's probably more than one 7990 floating around in the world as well.

I have been trying two of this cards and I only have achieved to 800 khs/s for LTC and 1200 MHs/s for BTC. The BTC performance is pretty good, but with the fact of ASICs coming and the low performance for LTC (one 5850 get 300 Khs/s and cost is around 100 € on eBay) it seems to be competely useless for 895 € each.

Has anyone achieve more than 800 Khs/s???

Note: The PC config was a AMD 1045T (six core) with 12 GB RAM.

The card linked above isn't out yet, presumably you have the old 7990. The new one has higher clocks and will bring efficiency improvements due to better binned chips.

EDIT: Now I have configurated the 7990s and 2 gives around 2300Khs/s

Wow... I'm in the wrong field of work. Apparently I should be designing GPUs for ATI and "accidentally" losing a couple and making sure to "find" them for sale in my Ebay account.  Wink

The auction finished apparently, the card was sold for $96,1000.00 to g***3.  Shocked 7990 will be launched on April 24th, and soon be available to retailers.

Maybe some AMD exec bid on it  Cheesy

I'm sure the initial price will be pretty crazy, but give it 4 or 5 months after release and this may be a fantastic card to mine on. That's a very effective looking stock cooler...

$900 wouldn't surprise me. Don't think they'll go beyond that though. AMD likely wants to put price pressure on Nvidia's dual GPU flagship.

Nice, but I wouldn't bother bidding on this unless I absolutely needed the card early or something, no warranty with an engineering sample :p

Besides official release date is only a few weeks away supposedly.

Wonder how much these will cost retail, if <=$800 it might be the best card for Litecoin mining as far as wattage/performance is concerned.

I'd be willing to bet they're going to be quite pricey.

Considering a 7970 is about $450, I would expect it to be $900+
