This isn't a cryptocurrency. This is nothing more than a gift card.

Just like Amazon-Coins, you guys start freaking out any time you see the word "coin".

How wonderfully fascist.

This is total garbage and sets a horrible precedent. It could not oppose bitcoin if it will be so strictly controlled. E-bay just lost a lot of respect from me.

Ebay had respect from you?  Cheesy As I said above, patent will probably get thrown out or I can't see it taking off.

This hardly sounds like they've got a patent case.

I'm sure it'll get thrown out just like the JP Morgan case.

"Parents can restrict kids from buying alcohol or tobacco"

"LEAs can restrict certain persons from buying chemicals"

etc..

But then, kids still smoke and drink, terrorist still make bombs.

I think EBay are getting a bit over excited by the concept.

If I was a kid I'd be seriously pissed off if I had to telephone my parents before spending my Ebaycoin!  Cheesy

Centralized tokens of any kind are not in competition to cryptocurrencies. Every business can have it's own centralized token or gift card, and there is nothing new in this patent application. I wonder why US patents bureau even accepts this trivial bullshit for consideration.
