You've refunded everything that was supposed to, so i'm completely good with the above transaction. It's unfortunate that it happened as i'm also a provider on leaserig. This is the first time i've had this issue and i've been with them for a number of months now. I'm glad you are working it out and have refunded me. Like you, i'm not sure what the issue is. I have a couple miners on x11 algo and they all were able to switch to the pool (suchpool) without issue. I'm wondering if it was simply a Proxy issue. I've since switch to direct connection and  have not received as many "unable to change pool" emails. If you haven't tried this, i suggest giving it a go.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will give direct connect another go when I have a chance.

Still waiting on full refund.

Original purchase was: 12600.00000000 DOGE

Refunded thus far: 2100.00000000

Remaining: 10,500 DOGE.

Please send to: DTqsPXa6tZEhDr3DmaoogYeXYheswVo2YZ

ClutchThese, Can you also give me a BTC address? I received 10183 DOGE from your lease, which is all the DOGE I have on hand. (Leaserig takes a 3% fee)  I sent back 10182 (1 needed for a transaction fee), leaving me short 318 DOGE. Rather than badger Leaserig directly (I'd much rather have them focus on fixing this infernal issue!), I'll be happy to refund their cut in BTC, if that's OK.

FYI; I did have one problem-free rental in between Sigi and ClutchThese's rentals. I have successfully manually entered X11 pools I've confirmed myself and the system is accepting them normally. Next I tried picking up an offered X11 lease and that is also working fine. So please be careful that you are choosing mining pools for the X11 algorithm, include a backup pool, and be sure at least one of the pools is alive when you begin. (I believe you can now add multiple backup pools, as well.)

For anyone using leaserig - I suggest checking this thread below for resolution of this issue as I'm concerned others may be having this issue. It's not caused on my end (rather than me trying to jerk the rig back to my own pool, in fact I've been doing the precise opposite and failing - Leaserig keeps jerking the rig back to my pool even when I manually enter the renters' pool. I've disabled my rig until this is addressed by Leaserig.)

Sigi, I just filed this ticket:

I had a complaint that my rig was reverting to my own mining pool, by a renter on Saturday. I just returned from a camping trip and while investigating the same thing happened again to another renter! I even manually entered their pools to force it back, only to see it revert again a moment later.

I haven't made any changes recently on my end since switching to X11, and had done a number of X11 leases just fine before that. My wife mentioned rebooting my rig while I was gone (it auto-starts LRP and CGwatcher with SGminer set for X11 on Leaserig), but didn't touch anything else. I'm mystified, and since this is happening repeatedly I'm very concerned. Could there be something that is checking pools and canceling them if there is some problem?

********************

I'll issue you a full refund immediately. Leaserig is doing this - NOT me. All I ask is you acknowledge the refund. I've been trying to manually enter your own pool and it just keeps canceling it!

Hi,
Is this still the case that you have not received a refund (from leaserig directly)? I'm still reconstructing what happened while I was gone. Until now it's been exactly the opposite - rigs would get stuck with the renters pools. So I figured I was not risking much being gone for the weekend, from a renters' view. The stats show the rig mined with some brief outages the whole weekend, so you must be right, but I'm confused as to why a lease would run with the wrong pools and you not able to fix it! I'll be out tonight a few hours, but soon as I hear back from you (as I expect) that you are still awaiting a refund I'll send you 10500 DOGE. I'm very sorry about this. :-(

Rented the x11 (10mh/s) miner for 12 hours. After the first hour of it constantly switching from my info to the owners, i gave up.

Don't rent this unit until he fixes this issue.

Would NOT recommend. edit- appears to have been an issue with leaserig. If you're reading this and wondering if you should lease it, try the 1 hour option first to verify it's working correctly. Smiley Happy Leasing.

I also contacted him via PM but i suspect he was asleep so did not receive a reply before writing this.

These are the instructions posted when renting this miner. I've highlighted in RED what i'm experiencing and would like a refund.  Thank you.
Quote
Instructions:
-Add your own pool(s). You can use stratum type of pools or HTTP pools. Do not forget to include port of the pool! Solo mining is supported too - just put in URL address http://IP:port of your wallet.

-Switch to your pool(s). This step is mandatory, else the hired rig will not mine for you. Select pool from the drop-down menu and click the Switch button. With Switch operation you move pools up to top priority. Mining rig will always try to mine on top priority pools (the ones with lower priority number), but sometimes it takes some time for miner to switch to the pool (up to 5 minutes).

-Remove unwanted pool(s). You can safely remove any pool you want. It is recommended to remove all unknown pools and pools marked with Remove me. You cannot remove currently active pool (pool marked green), you need to switch first to another pool, then try to perform removal operation.

-Use backup pools! Pools are usually unreliable. With backup pools you make sure your hired hashing power is not wasted for nothing in case of pool failures. You can use up to 8 pools.
If you notice your pools being removed and switched to other pools you did not want, please contact mining rig provider. You have every right to request lease extension or a refund in such cases.

-If the mining rig is not responding or if you get errors when trying to add, remove or switch pools, contact mining rig provider! We cannot assist you with mining rig errors, because we have no control over rigs. If you could not resolve the issue with the provider or he does not respond to you within 48 hours, let us know so we can take actions against the provider.

-When lease is over, leave a feedback for this mining rig provider here.

Rented the Strongminer rig on LeaseRig.net for 24 hours.

The hash rate for the rig was as advertised, and the number of rejected shares was very low.

About halfway through the lease, the miner went offline for about an hour.  I contacted the provider, and he got back to me very quickly (indicated that there was a failure with the ISP).  He reimbursed me for more than the time I lost, and was very responsive.

Good provider, and excellent customer service!   Cool

It's not worth the expense/trouble. I've just the one rig really, and their downtime isn't _that_ bad, just annoying the few times something has happened. It's just not at virtually 100% like I was used to with ADSL or back in dial-up days.

No, nothing you could do. Both downtimes today were due to Verizon screwing something up with their wifi hotspot software updates. I wish THEY had a reputation thread! I added time for the lease in both cases.

LOL

Verizon Fail is something I am familiar with.   I'll change the photo to a link so it's not so giant.

Thanks for responding.

Ever think about adding a second carrier?  You should be able to load balance and failover with open source routers.

I believe this was during a staff test rental.  We can help with configuration and setup if you feel there are issues.

I think it was a momentary disconnect, so try again if you can. (I'm not familiar with your end of the interface I'm afraid.)

There have been a number of problems with disconnects reported and several proxy updates the last few days. Hopefully the latest one that came out this evening will help. If it remains a problem I'll see what I can do to compensate it for you. I do need to sleep now (midnight my time), but I'll follow up tomorrow.

UPDATE: I just realized the time difference here and realized you were referring to ~6 hours ago. Yes, there was a snarl in the configurations that led to the system jumping back to my default pool. (I think I know how to address that next time around, now.) If you can post your intended target address pools/settings (or send via private message if needed), I'll set my miner up ASAP (after other lease ends) for the missing time and make it up to you.  I'm sorry about that!

A couple things to note:

1. The stats (hashrate) on Leaserig tend to bounce around a bit. If you want to see that actual hashrate on the miner, I have an app taking a screenshot every 15 minutes that you can view at:
XXXXX (See below)

It typically runs at 3.74-3.75 Mhash and is very stable at that level.

2. Occasionally the Smoochapps server has problems and it doesn't display a screenshot. (I get spurious emails telling me my rig is down all the time). So don't be concerned if the link says the rig is down, I've seen that dozens of times and it was only right once. Typically if you wait 15-30 minutes you will see the screenshots come back like nothing happened.

I have the miner configured so that it will restart if anything significant (in a bad way) happens. This only takes a few seconds. And if something major happens (like one of the GPU's dying or the total hashrate dropping by 17% or more) the system automatically restarts and should pick back up with all the same settings. I have an SSD drive on it for fast reboot so this is also pretty minor (and rarely happens).

(Update: I figured out how to get an accurate hashrate reported on Leaserig, and am doing that instead of running the Smoochapps app, most of the time. I'm on a tight data cap that forces that sort of choice on me, not to mention I didn't care to have a screenshot uploaded while displaying my password file or something. Fortunately it does not affect mining which actually uses very little bandwidth.)

Hi,
This is my reputation thread, for feedback about trades with me or lease of my mining rig Strongminer on leaserig.net.

Best wishes!
