But wether the developer are saying the truth can't be known at this moment.
There are several possibilities on what happened.

I think Hanlon's Razor definitely applies here. There's no reason to overreact and go on tangents when we aren't really privy to the details.

I'm the only one who can't see it anymore? I googled, there is nothing. The only result I get is the beta wallet and If I visit ACINQ page[1], I see nothing as well.

Bitrefill linked[2] to them directly in Google play and the link is not working[3] for me. I do remember seeing it when it first got released a few ago.
