What do you think about this recent development?
Some people see this as an attempt to incentivize more donations, but some others are of the opinion that if you donate, you should do so without expecting anything in return, even if it was promised. Opinions?

Yes, we donate out of our concern for the people and country of Ukraine without expecting anything in return.
In my opinion, this NFT made by Ukraine seems to have a bad impact, why is it that the donations used should be
channeled to affected people such as civilians or injured people or medical equipment instead they want to find ways to get more donations through NFT that they made.
Forgive my thoughts if I'm wrong, is this a war technique, so that from the concern of the cryptocurrency community, Ukraine can raise funds for the war to avenge Russia? This is what makes me think it would be better to donate to a charity in Ukraine where all the funds used are audited properly or donors go directly to help people who really need it. I hate war, may peace come soon.

I don't understand what he's thinking but it seems like gradually, it will become a hidden business to get people to donate. Why did they make the NFT if only to support the Ukrainian army? Instead of making NFTs, they should focus on providing support to the army and the people by distributing donations in the form of food, drinks, shelter or anything else useful for the Ukrainian people.

They don't need the NFT to support their soldiers or people yet. What they need now is how to stop the war that is going on and make sure the people and soldiers can continue surviving the invasion. Perhaps many would be disappointed if they continued with their plan to create an NFT to support their army. I don't know. It seems to have turned into a political and business affair. But I am glad the airdrop was canceled because that is not the point for the donations.

Yes, there is no point in conducting airdrop now, the country is not in that position now.And so I am very glad that a lot of people from all over the world are helping my country. I also hope that all the money raised will be spent as intended.
Your country is in crisis in terms of funds and money to support your daily needs and I think if there are many donations from other people to your country it's better to distribute it with your citizens who need help because of this war against your country and Russia..
For sure other people who donated your country sis not aim for return cause if you donated something to other you should not aiming for more return cause it's will come by the other way.
I think have other source donation coming to Ukraine exactly from Europe country helped them with medical and other thing, maybe between Ukraine and Russia need solution how to stop this war and make condition back to all without make many people as victim, between Russia and Ukraine president need to be friendly each other not worry who first ask apology because will be better than keep asking donation or right now Ukraine make new airdrop donation with cryptocurrency, looks funny when war crisis Ukraine government not finding way how to stop war but only have ideas with open airdrop donation.

I also feel that this is something they are doing to increase donations even more. indirectly, this may be a support from the country for the development of blockchain. I think most people who participate are also aware that they will only invest in this. Well, Ukraine is still hit by international problems, thinking about airdrops, or something like that, it's still hard to understand.
however, based on the news, they managed to attract more donors, I just hope this can have a positive impact for the country.

Actually the positive impact of crypto is both sides. Russia will use crypto to deal with sanctions after being threatened to leave the swift system.
However, and by all mens, i still find it hard to understand how Ukraine thought about running an airdrop. Honestly i was likely thinking about some NFTs that may provide help for donating.

Not really surprised if the planned airdrop is to be canceled, it is kinda complicated due to being involved in many chain networks. Particularly most donations have come from pseudonym individuals. Regarding those people who sent donations that expecting anything in returns would say this canceled airdrop as such a rugpull or something, in my moral view it would be such a waste if people start to regret what they did when it was to help others in need.

There are a lot of people who are upset with this decision that the crypto community has been scammed by Ukraine and the reason is that after the Ukrainian government announced an airdrop to get more donations and after the money flowed in with them, they canceled the airdrop, but in my opinion whoever made the donation should not wait for any something in return. For NFT this is a wise decision as creating an NFT will cost only gas fees on the Ethereum and polygon chain and will increase the volume of donations.

Yes, there will be a lot of support from other countries soon, you can read it in the news. With the economy in the country, everything is fine so far, the national currency exchange rate has not suffered so much.I would not like to receive part of these donations, let them be distributed to those who really need them.

I see this from two angles, and they are -

First, I see absolutely no reason for this airdrop, I mean they were the ones who asked for crypto and even fiat donations, why did they if they didn't need the money?

I thought the plan for airdrop has been cancelled going by the information put above. Maybe an after thought they considered that they have alot going on and no need for distraction because airdrop will definitely be a distraction for them. They are getting donation already , EU, US and others have supported with $5.2 billion for the war as they raised the sanctions more. America banning Russian flight in there territory already.

Even if they don't need the money, I believe there are alot of their citizens going through hell right now as a result of the ongoing conflict, they can use that money to help this people.

Secondly, this could be a trick to get more people to donate to them if this is true, then am sorry to say but am disappointed, donation should be something one does with a free mind and spirit expecting nothing in return, one shouldn't be compelled or tricked into doing it, it's immoral.

This is impressive, mostly the airdrop got more attention as many people don't want to be left behind maybe after the war there will be something great to come and to also reward those who contributed. Is there BNB address to also help for the donation i searched through their tweet and replies but i couldn't find any. maybe if someone get it they can share here to enable those holding BNB to help support by donating to them as well.
Ukraine only accepts donations from donors via the polkadot network , solana Usdt (TRC20) , ETH ,BTC , There is no BNB address for donors , Be careful many scamers pretend to be asking for donations for ukraine , make sure for anyone who wants to donate take a verified address  either on twitter or via direct uniswap.
But those who are aware they will not donate money without verification, because this is @Ukraine official twitter handler and here tweeted in details with donation address, Yeah i also see that still they didn’t provided any BNB address. I think who wanna donate they should verify carefully from ukraine official twitter account which is verified then there are no risk to donate.

Ukraine received donations more than 33 million dollar worth crypto and that amount is keep increasing. thus they might be realize the importance of crypto and so they announcement for airdrop, they are going to give their own token to their donators. Maybe thus they want to let the world know, we can donate ukraine from anywhere though crypto which is earlier process than fiat. After all they know that, this is not perfect time to disturbing free money but i dont know how they'll manage all of their donators from multiple blockchain

In this times of struggle they about to do an airdrop? Sounds suspicious to me, as they already have lots of donations few days ago from the crypto community. I bet their account was hacked and asking more and more donations which very alarming now.

I also think so that this may send it wrong message and negative impact. Why are they thinking of airdrop that they have much on their hands to handle. I think they should focus on the means to get support to prosecute the war and not to look for what to give back. Whether airdrop or not, people will show sympathy with them and give to them. Moreover they are yet to make official statement about the legal status of bitcoin in their country and why airdrop now in time of war.

It's strange that they take the donation and use it to do an airdrop, I don't understand how complicated this process is. I don't care what I get from them when the giving is to share some economic support for those in need. Don't turn this into a give and take program. I hope those responsible for this need to think more seriously and clearly, don't use money sarcastically.

It isn't a wise move to launch an airdrop using donations because there are other ways to use it. Ukrainians need financial help and not all of them could access crypto. Scammers might only take advantage of it. It would be better to donate it directly to Ukraine than to give it as an airdrop. These donations must reach straight to Ukraine.

I worry its really trusted official from Ukraine or not because I found many donation names about Ukraine after invasion by Russia, I don't know which one is true or scammer because found not one donation but also many donation payment using cryptocurrency. I heard Binance have donate almost billion USDT and they have sell all donation from Binance exchange and I think they only take benefit with donation a while without keep holding as long term recovery for his country. Maybe now look aware with donation without from real official from Ukraine government.

Therefore, we must be careful, that scammers always take advantage of this situation for their own benefit. don't care what happens, because the scammer is only for him. So if you really want to donate, use a trusted alternative. Even then, if you can afford it, give money, if you are able to speak, use it to always inform the truth, if you are able to pray then pray that everything will return to normal.

All donors have their roles according to what they can afford.

For some, it's all about business. War is a business, sanctions are a business, and my donation is to provide security and food for the Ukrainian people. I don’t want this to be a business, and humanitarianism is not a business.
it's really hard when there's no one to trust, but still donate (if in doubt then donate with a small fund) even though we don't know if the money is right on target (Ukrainians who suffer).

It is interesting to see how cryptocurrencies are becoming an important asset during war and protests.

Just a few weeks after the protestors in Canada receive lots of cryptocurrency, Ukraine is now receiving more donations to help their war efforts.

It is also interesting to see Ukraine asking binance to freeze russian accounts. I am happy to see binance deny their request, as Russian citizens have nothing to do with their goverment war.

It is impressive that PolkaDot founder just donated $ 5M in cryptocurrency to Ukraine!! WTF!

https://twitter.com/CoinDesk/status/1498668656598867972

Question: I was looking at their thread, they accept BTC ETH and DOT, afaik.

The problem is that ETH fees are very expensive. Will BTC users be eligible for the airdrop? As they are listening a token, it will be harder to give bitcoin users the airdrop. I think i will make a test using DOT blockchain.
Over the past few days, Ukraine has garnered solid support from organizations and individual sections of the crypto space.
It should be noted that many anonymous individuals also contributed large amounts of crypto assets to Ukraine. One of the contributors mysteriously sent 80 BTC to Come Back Alive – a charity organization that supports Ukrainian soldiers with equipment. At the time of the donation, it equaled more than $3 million.

Do not make a wild assumption, just stick to the basic morality if you are going to donate something. Just think, you donate it because they are in need of help not the other way around, and as of today, they canceled the airdrop.
And the donation is real, confirmed by several people including the vice prime minister himself. So do not doubt it.

Posted directly by the vice prime minister on his Twitter about the cancelation:

What if this was all a plan? I mean they started a war and ended up asking for a donation but it was good somehow because the medium that they chose are cryptos. Not only they can benefit with this if ever it's true but we crypto users can too but let say I am wrong or I am just being paranoid here but this can still be a business to the greedy coin developers because they are using the trend wars and donations, only to create a new project.

The transaction have increased after they said that they will do an airdrop, that only shows that many are interested on the airdrop more than the donation but I think that is better than donating money directly on scam projects.

With the help of war hype, big households paid for the platform to attract traffic. When the heat came, they took the opportunity to issue coins and let the leeks in the secondary market take over. In less than a few days, the planners, traders and big players successfully exited, which is really shameful.

Would be interesting to see how it all plays out, there are speculations that they could be planning to create a custom token/coin, but running a airdrop on this would be difficult as donations were from multiple crypto networks.
What do you think?

I think ukraine has not had time to think about creating a special token for accepting donations.
Because making a token of course requires a programmer who understands blockchain, especially if it is used for donations,
whether you want to use your own chain (it takes time to complete) or a chain like BSC (but there will be
speculation here if it is made modestly, the token price will be played by bad people) .
since ukraine is now in martial law, the most reasonable thing is that they will add wallets with cheap networks,
like USDT (tron network), Polkadot, Solana, etc. In addition, the community needs any immediate funds that
can be sold instantly, not newly created tokens.

this is something interesting. because it coincides with the tragedy that is happening in this country. and if this donation is handled by the right party, of course this will greatly help the people affected by this incident
It's ridiculous~

You need to remember that it is a donation to support those in need. The way they are building is a program of form rather than meaning. I really find it ironic if they send airdrops to donors, it's their responsibility to make good use of that money, I find it funny when someone takes my money and gives it back to me.

This action could be just to get more communities to donate to their fund. In my opinion, maybe they release the NFT collection to pay tribute to the people who have supported them. They do not necessarily have monetary value but spiritual value and this is seen as a gesture of gratitude by the government to those who love peace and do not want war.

What do you think?
Got a point actually. They did open up a donation for multiple address and its fine if the L1 used are all can be open up to metamask since they can do a distribution to either of one this as it would be easy to do a change of network. But they also did on polkadot that is totally different which Im sure they gonna need additional workload to make it count.

They are doing it, and I still don't know how many people are doing it for this reason to confuse the concept of donation. But the previous money donations to the crypto market have always received support from the community with a good meaning for more people's lives. Diseases and wars are big problems to be solved, but as with any big problem, there are many other problems that come with it.

It seems like this airdrop was giving positive feedback from the cryptocommunity. More donations came and i have been donating to support ukraine as well. This airdrop news has been successful to attract more donations as the total amounts already donated were also increasing rapidly. Im sure that those donators will try to sell Ukraine NFT to the open sea market once they will be getting their airdrop. It's gonna a pretty interesting thing to see what will be happening with it.
This is so good to see crypto community even some big guys in the cryptos united to send more and more donations to Ukraine.

A great idea and great respect for the entire community for such a large amount of funding for Ukraine in such a difficult time.

As for airdrop, as far as I know, subsidies could only be made in Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDT. If a new token were to be created, there is no doubt that it would be created on the Ethereum platform. Then you can use bridge for all Bitcoin users:

The purpose of this airdrop event is most likely to boost its crypto donation from the crypto community. Personally, I'm kinda curious how would the airdrop going on since we all know donations are coming from multiple chains.

On the other side, I feel sad for people who make donations and expect something in return.

Question: I was looking at their thread, they accept BTC ETH and DOT, afaik.
No, at the first they only accept BTC, ETH, and USDT (both erc20 and trc20)
Then from 1st March they begin accepting DOT donations

The sad part is, when Ukraine is in war and getting 40+ million in donations, I am pretty sure that some guy that created some horrible NFT type of collection could raise even more from investors. One is a scam basically with a promise of making a lot of money, and people realize it is a scam when it is too late and only the project founder makes money and everyone else loses, and the other one is a nation begging for money to cover their expenses.

We all know that Ukraine doesn't really have a lot to offer for many people, and this airdrop could be souvenir for people to hold and say "I helped" basically. But there could have been a lot more donated to them, crypto world is a lot bigger. I gave nearly 50% of my portfolio to them and yet people still ignored Ukraine for some reason.

It's sad and happy feeling seeing crypto taking a center place while whole world unite/divide in a cause. It just shows crypto is much more powerful and stable than individual currencies of nation. And glad to see so many crypto enthusiast donating their money to the people they support.
I think the airdrop would be more of a symbol token of appreciation that something of monitorial value. Would have been great if they were able to reward war based unique NFT collection, but can't expect much in the situation.

I saw the news today. The enthusiasm of the donors is not small, and what makes me curious is what kind of Airdrop will actually be distributed? Very curious about how it is distributed. However, Ukraine needs more donations of food, drink, clean water, medicine and something more to stockpile during the war. It is highly unlikely that donors will fund weapons purchases with crypto. Humanity above all. What is the reason behind all this? I still always ask.

The point is to aim to attract more of the crypto community into the situation they are in. In the midst of the war that was going on, they apparently still had time to hold an Airdrop. Although the actual donor does not need any kind of reciprocity from Ukraine. Because they give not to be returned with some gifts. Logically, Ukrainian citizens should feel the welfare of the money that can be evenly distributed to meet the necessities of life during difficult times.

You have to ask yourself several questions, what does this airdrop entail? How will the funds be used, to buy what? Marco Camisani Calzolari has produced several reports regarding the scams created using the war in Ukraine as a shield. The eth network is heavy enough to bear, we will see what they will put in place, surely in situations of this kind something interesting will be born regardless of the purpose.

And here we go again, scammers will see this and try to start fooling those who don't have access to that real Twitter account, they will change address to their personal wallet address just saying this to protect some newbies.

this is already a given fact that scammers will try to lure naive users by posting fake twitter accounts. so before they send something to ukraine, they need to verify that they are dealing with official accts. scammers are good in imitating as they can just add a number or letter to the acct name and still use the same photo or logo.

WTF!

Earlier today, Ukraine government through their official Twitter account announced that an airdrop has been confirmed and would launch from the 3rd of March to all crypto donors

The exact logistics behind such an event seems unclear at this point, but one thing it was certain to do was to attract attention, lots of it. As well as stimulate more donations as people would want to be a part of whatever the Ukrainians are planning. And according to coindesk, this is seemingly working as there has been a spike in donations since the announcement;

Quote
Ukraine received over $7 million in crypto donations after the country announced that an airdrop is inbound, according to on-chain data.
• Ukraine received $1.1 million in ether, $6 million in DOT, and other cryptos, after the announcement on Wednesday. This would take the country's total crypto donations to over $40 million.

• Before the airdrop over $33 million in crypto had been donated to Ukraine’s war efforts.

Would be interesting to see how it all plays out, there are speculations that they could be planning to create a custom token/coin, but running a airdrop on this would be difficult as donations were from multiple crypto networks.

Edit;
Ukraine has canceled the planned airdrop which was announced yesterday and plan to launch NFTs instead, through which people can support their cause. This was announced through the account in charge of crypto donations earlier today;

What do you think about this recent development?
Some people see this as an attempt to incentivize more donations, but some others are of the opinion that if you donate, you should do so without expecting anything in return, even if it was promised. Opinions?
