oops

I am under the impression that I know your alternate account. Grin
How many accounts do you have? erikoy ?  And also jademaxsuy?
I saw @Nutildah recently tagged your account.

Do you say your today's oversight, just a coincidence?

You answered me, and after a second you realized that you were in an account that did not create this topic, and immediately deleted the message.

But luckily @LoyceV sees everything.

And the topic was not created by erikoy, although he answered. This happens when you are trying to make all the money in the world, and you have several accounts. From this and confusion. If you had one account, such an incident would not have happened.
It made me laugh very much. Grin Grin Grin  But be that as it may. You are forwarding merit to your alternate account.

I am always thankful for some replies may it be in addition or criticism. All of it will be part of learning so for me it will matter. I think I may need to make a clearer picture to deliver some of the content of my post.

Correct. I never thought of this actually becuase I never use cloud storage for security purposes. It so hard to trust anybody or any platform like cloud storage.

You are absolutely right. This is just a simple form of scamming but way effective.

In addition with the thread, there are actually many ways to observe and to be cautios. So never get to fall in a trap and that is why you need the bitcointalk forum tha we can use as a medium to share knowledge and experience of among others that we something we could learn on.

9. Always use 2FA to access your funds to get more secured of holding your funds.
I think this is good advice but there are cases that 2fa can be bypass through extensive methods of hackers. Some mentioned were self explanatory but indeed helpful to everyone who can read.

However I suggest OP to make your body post more concise, short and direct to the point. No one wants to read wall of text, use some highlight to give specific points. Anyway thanks for the effort.

Emails can be hacked too which can lead to importation of 2fa through your google auth application, though it will requires the hacker to get closer to your phones but anything is possible, the best thing to do is never give up your smartphone to anyone

Are there really any forum without scammers and is there any discrete measure being taken to bring these scammers to justice because,  if actions are not taken and the only thing we've got is caution and avoid being victims ourselves,  scamming is likely to continue.

We’re not ignorant of the devices of scammers and con men. So I have always encouraged everyone in the community to be careful of who they expose their information to and the application they download in their devices. There are many ways to detect scammers but first keep your information or recovery phrase information in secure location.

These are some good points for everyone to read but the list can become a never-ending one since scammers find new ways and tricks to scam people so we should keep ourselves updated with crypto market events.

Commonly newbies get trapped into centralized exchanges where the fee structure is extremely high so when you are going to pick a new exchange for conversion then never forget to read their terms and the fee structure so that you won't get worried later.

Giveaway scams is prolly one of the most prevalent scam in the network atm, could be on a Youtube channel will quite a lot of subscribers, or a verified Twitter account etc, none of this is reason enough to fall for giveaway scam, accounts could be hacked, last year, accounts of popular people like Bill gates, etc got hacked, and was used to scam people via 'giveaway', so even if the giveaway is posted by a rich, popular or influencial person (account), take it to be a scam. Having said that, it's also quite easy to build up fake subscribers, so don't trust, but verify, even if the account has a good number of subscribers, and mind you that it could also be hacked.

Completely taking responsibility of your funds is like the summary of it all, to "be your own bank" you have to do that and zero your mind that Bitcoin is a "get rich quick scheme" cause it is definitely not.

And never store you private keys in a cloud service. I have heard this already several times and people should be aware, that this is not very safe. Not only because your account can be hacked or compromised but also because data can be leaked where it's stored. When you store data in a cloud, it's stored somewhere else. You can't control it yourself.

In general, you should know: every copy of your private key / seed is increasing the risk that a malicious actor gets access to it, but make sure it's copied often enough to have a second copy if you lose one (shouldn't happen).
After all, it's an consideration how often you'll copy it:
- protection to prevent access from malicious actors (less copies to achieve it)
- safety in case you lose access to a copy (more copies to achieve it)

Generally we should always be vigilant on these types of frauds and should not be complacent when it comes to security and awareness on these

threats. Nevertheless, we could easily find tons of useful information on this sub-thread alone that could help us educate ourselves and be constantly

updated on these fraud schemes. So its up to us if we are really concerned about our own security or not. Never get tired of DYOR. Imho.

The thing is, education on trading and investing was never a high priority for small investors. People would rather be told where to put their money and how much to put up and when to take it out and still get a huge return (and possibly to get a payback ASAP). Well, that kind of work is called Financial advising and that costs. The rest that don't have that benefit, have to educate themselves or they WILL lose money. But this is not a crypto problem, that is first and foremost an education problem. We do not teach kids or adults how to handle their money, we think that comes naturally. No, no it does not. Great post.

A beginner's guide, but only the tops are collected.
You should, for each item, provide a link to an article that is already on the forum. In this case, it would turn out to be a small catalog of articles, through which it would be more convenient for a beginner to navigate, for a more complete understanding of each item you described.
And so, I see a simple collection, like an abstract, for further self-study. And this is not a very useful activity, since sometimes beginners do not know what topic to tackle.

A question from a beginner. Smiley
For example:

7. If you wanted to invest huge then store your asset in a cold storage like hardware wallet and keep all keys and password back up at least in three different ways in case you lose your other keys or forget your password.

 And what is it?

9. Always use 2FA to access your funds to get more secured of holding your funds.

And what is it?

Although, not necessary for experts, but can still be included. The use of anti-malware/antivirus.

It will be good to make use of ad blockers and not using playstore to download, downloading from the official site is better, and visit the right and legit site, not the fake ones. Anything fake is the a sign of phishing.

This is just my friendly reminder among newbies in the forum for I know they are still in the stage of exploring the forum. There are really people work so bad that instead of doing right they do their dirty work by scamming other people. Well, you know how bad it will be if you will become a victim in their scam and other related activity. So, how would you avoid these kind of activity?

Even myself do not know how to isolate from those scam activities for it would be almost impossible with those scammers around working hard and that is why there are many reports on individulas and even millionaire's being scam. This is why we need to learn together to keep on  sharing the scammers activity and learn to it. I may not get worried of the scammers activities for I do not want to hold funds online.

But due to love of bitcoin, I want to keep it even ittle by little in every little ways. In order to avoid getting into being a victim of the scammers even how small the fund would it being it will be always important to us to keep secured.

So, I wanted to share some of my ways on how to keep away from the scammers,

1. Never entertain offers especially in investment which offers are too good to be true.
2. Beware of joining networking scheme or ponzi scheme investment.
3. Preferrably invest in bitcoin, because there are many fake and scam ICO. Even coins listed already in the exchange where some of it are scam so chose lesser risk when investing.
4. Always check sites that you are visiting for there are many fake and scam sites. Be keen and observe the characters of the link you are visiting especially about digital wallets and exchanges. Better to bookmark legit sites.
5. Some google ads are scam and you should know of it even it is being pinned as google ad in the search result. Google pinned ads are not credible and are subject for the scammers to take advantage by paying google and let their fake site to be pin on top of the other results. It should be reported.
6. Google play store has the same thing with google ads. They also accept fake apps like phishing app. It should also be reported so that google will remove it in their system.
7. If you wanted to invest huge then store your asset in a cold storage like hardware wallet and keep all keys and password back up at least in three different ways in case you lose your other keys or forget your password.
8. Never store your funds in a centralized exchange where you do not have hold of your funds. Also it would be easier for the hackers to access your funds.
9. Always use 2FA to access your funds to get more secured of holding your funds.
10. Keep always have bitcointalk forum for your reference in the scam activities. There are many reported scam activities especially in this section Scam Accusations. Beginners and Help section could also be a source of scam awareness and other related activities.

Well, there are still many things to learn in the forum. I admit that even in my 2 years of stay here I am still newbie in the world.of crytpocurrency. It has really a broad aspect and this is why I need to keep educated and thks forum will be a great help to learn. Hopfully I can even get a little help from other users as well.
