I believe there is no question now of the effect from BCH. Already BTC has rebounded and returned to its path to rise. People who bought BCH already many of them had already returned to BTC, and the return is continuing. The movement on BCH was temporary it seemed. The miners were just playing around who migrated to BCH

For todays increase in BTC price "fresh money" was used. BCH is stable around the $1200 mark and a market cap of 20bn $.
Well if BTC price stays too long under 6500$ mining BCH will be much more profitable. Maybe some entities are interested that it stays that way  Roll Eyes
tldr, at the morning i sold some BCH at 0.186 and bought it back at 0.167...a little fun  Grin
I don't recommend you long to have fun. Tomorrow you Wake up and don't sell your coins at all. Bitcoin is now in the stage of growth of its price and can easily take away the capital from bch. The miners used the bch to put pressure on the kernel developers. Now they have reached the desired effect and we can see how they throw the bch as a used condom.

How many of you panicked and sold their Bitcoins to buy Bitcoin cash? if you want to know the truth then I'll tell you mate, Roger and billionaires thanks

To Bitcoin wanted you to believe there is a chance for Bch to replace Bitcoin, they sold their Bitcoins and then pumped their pre-mine Bitcoin cash, how

Long did that pump take? not long because we're here to dump Bch every time they are pumping it.

An inverse reaction took place causing price growth over bitcoin cash and price drop over bitcoin. This didn't last long, but the stabilized growth of bitcoin cash has made it stay above $1250 after it started to rally from $350. Now bitcoin feels the goodness with price increasing to reach above $7200.

Hopefully BCH will bleed back to normal levels under $500 the next few weeks. That alone would push Bitcoin to 8000! Not even counting all the new money coming into Bitcoin.

1) Do you think Roger Ver  with his support to BCH will Kick bitcoin price and replace it with BCH or bitcoin will survive ?

2) Do you think this crash normal (7,800$ to 6,200$) or intended Huh
If you have seen the latest price of bitcoin , i think you would have already know about the statistics . There is no way that any other coin can kick or replace bitcoin . According to me the crash was intended because of some investors . But that just all over and bitcoin is back on track.

That is right. But the Bitcoin Cash could be a hedge of Bitcoin. If the Bitcoin is down, the Bitcoin Cash could go up.

This happens all the time in market . Any new controversy or fork leads to the downfall in the bitcoin value but that does't mean that this is going to affect the bitcoin's existence . Bitcoin ha survived many hardforks and many such situations in the past and have earned an even more value after that .
Bitcoin is not going anywhere . The BCH is already starting to loose its value and bitcoin is rising on the other side . Any other altcoin cannot shake bitcoin so easily overnight.

Yeah, i can think that bch had been effected in bitcoin price, but now everything has been solved and that time has been over and once again new time of bitcoin has been started again, and it is sure this is a bitcoin time, this bitcoin price is a proof of its $7199.
But it is right bch has damaged the bitcoin price, and we have seen in this week bitcoin suddenly down because of bch.

I don't think so! Bitcoin cash is not going to replace Bitcoin core. As at today Bitcoin core price has started recovery and bitcoin cash has lose over a $1,000. Another reason that I see bitcoin core as the original and it cannot be taking over by another coins is it foundation, every business structure and physical structure of blockchain technology are build on bitcoin core.

i don't think he can kick bitcoin price and then replace it with bitcoin cash because bitcoin itself have bigger community and many people is supporting bitcoin from every where. i see the bitcoin price is come back and trying to reach the higher price than the last high price and we will see the highest price from bitcoin in this year and i think this will makes people to come into bitcoin world. i think the crash is normal because some of people is getting panic because of the segwit2x yesterday and many people is making a bad news that affect bitcoin price and suddenly the price is dropped until $59xx (the last time i saw the bottom price). but i am not too worried of this because the fact, bitcoin price is back to increase and now it reach more than $7xxx.

1.There are many ups and down from the starting of bitcoin but still it remains at the top and will remain for long term and it cannot be replaced by any other currency.Inspire of all the forks btc has gained popularity and price boost
2.The plan to make btc price lower by increasing BCH market cap was planned before hand only but still bitcoin showed its potential and regained stability and did not crash although there was a little downfall in price but now its increasing again.

1. Though Roger Ver supported BCH does not necessarily mean it will replace bitcoin. There are far more support on bitcoin rather tha  BCH. It may hit bitcoin a little bitcoin leaving a very light impact but it wont stop bitcoin from going up. If there is a dump there is probably a pump!

2. Some speculates that it is the Whales that makes the price of bitcoin goes down. This could be true. Sometimes the dump in price is being manipulated to have confusion and panic to other holders.
I am never afraid of the dump. On the contrary I like it. There is a pattern. After the dump is always included pump. Without this dump does not make sense. I think that now the dump stopped, and after a period of relative stability, the price will go up. Altcoins will never be able to replace bitcoin because without it they cannot exist. This is the law of the market.

It is obviously currently having an effect on the Bitcoin price because some people switched over to BCH from BTC. Though BTC is already in recovery mode now what like 6 days after the crash began. It's already found stable footing in the mid-6000s and trying to test 7000 right now. The BCH value will slowly bleed back into BTC as a new BTC bull run begins in the next few weeks and BCH is left flat footed since it's pump and dump scheme has ended.

Bitcoin is about to start getting hit by institutional investors, sure at first it'll just be a little bit, but it is starting a month from now with the futures contracts. Bitcoin is now on its way to becoming a major new asset class. BCH...a pump and dump scheme pushed by a few rich people.

well, I think there's a game in the back of a bitcoin price drop, and a bitcoin cash hike. well, this is very profitable for a trader. even, the bitcoin cash price is almost equivalent to 0.5 btc in no time. well, I think bitcoin cash really has an effect on bitcoin prices.

Theses two coins will coexist. The Bitcoin is for store of value and Bitcoin Cash is for daily transactions.

CoinDesk report or other news site report about bitcoin price but all the information is been shared after price bump or dump only not before that. Seems like a whether forecast reporter says all the time. Keep away these non sense information about the bitcoin trolling comparing shit coin BCH with that.

First of all, $1,600 USD difference drop is not considered crash yet, thats only 22% drop in percentage, there are higher percentage drop in history of Bitcoin that 22%. Two factors that you need to consider why it dropped 22%, one is the market correction because of the recent bull run, next is the orchestrated BCH pump. Blame those with weak hands for selling their BTCs in exchange for BCH and enjoy the short ride to the moon and back.

1. I think BCH can not replace BTC
2. BTC price will return to its existing orbit
now the price is $65xx. There have been signs of recovery.
BCH is just a temporary solution when the miners realize profits when mine BCH > BTC. they will soon be back with Bitcoin because Bitcoin is a currency that we are looking to the future

There is a theory now circulating:

Miners can quickly switch between btc and bch.

If btc/bch goes down they switch to bch. Transactions pile up - and if it goes on for long then the price will go down even further (a positive feedback).

It requires over 2000 blocks for the difficulty to scale down in btc (two weeks - more if the slow down is significant).

In bch the adjustment happens every new block - so it will not suffer that much from those oscillations.

(from https://pastebin.com/D09wHy2W)

Sounds logical - maybe BTC needs to switch to a similar faster difficulty adjustment scheme.

But if the price does not drop below mining profitability - then it should not be that bad - after BCH difficulty adjusts up miners will go back to BTC.

It all depends on how users behave.

Those who have their coins on the exchanges or in wallets like Xapo, will not be affected by the mempool backlogs. But those who have their coins in their own wallets are struggling with large fees and being unable to move coins.

And businesses that need to move coins - such as remittance businesses - are also struggling. The fear is that if mempool problems persist, they will seek to use another coin to move money. It might be bitcoincash, it might be ethereum or another alt.

Businesses tend not to wait, because they haven't got the luxury of saying to their customers, "just wait, your money might arrive next week sometime, we hope".

It will affect bitcoin's price and may kick it but I don't think so that it will ever be replacing bitcoin. Bitcoin will survive, I trust bitcoin as there's too much challenges that it went through before.

Being new to this Crypto business, I bought $2K worth of bitcoins 2 weeks back when the price was $7000+ hearing about BTC price jump, then friend of mine tole me about the hard fork and possibility of new free coin, so I decided to invest $2k more and bought it when BTC was all time high at $7800.

Yesterday, over the weekend I logged on and saw that BTC was crashing and BCH was going way up around $2500. Being a noob, I made the error of panic sale of BTC and buying BCH and later selling BCH and buying BTC when BCH went back down. Anyway long story short, thanks to this whatever is happening with BTC-BCH business and exchange fees, I am now $2K short in my BTC holding and still see the BTC is going down.

Any advice on either to sell the remaining BTC for cash and cut my losses or still hold them, I now have around 0.2... BTC down from 0.4+  Sad . Not a huge amount to most but it is for me.

Just hold it all in Bitcoin and you'll end up making a lot of money even after your current losses. Stay out of BCH. It's a pure pump and dump coin. You got scammed into buying into a pump and dump scheme and lost money. That's the only thing BCH is used for. A few people who got rich from Bitcoin have decided to spread propaganda saying BCH is the real Bitcoin and they worked hard to pump the price up to be a huge bubble the past few days. If you still have any BCH sell it immediately. The normal price for BCH is about $400 and it will go back there in the next few weeks.

Bitcoin is the main crypto, it might increase 10x in the next 3 years. BCH likely has no future as it is used purely for trading and not used in the real world at all and won't be because Bitcoin is already the coin being used for real world purchases.

BTC just experienced a normal crash and BCH's zealots used the opportunity to pump BCH. BCH had its weekend in the news, now it is going back to normal <$500 levels. BTC just started recovering from a normal crash. It'll be breaking new highs in the next few weeks and will very likely hit $10k in December or January.

Thank you for your advice, seeing BTC climb again in price, I now have the confidence and will definitely hold the remaining BTC. I did sell the BCH at bit of loss, but learned the lesson.

Grin Grin I think this event is totally misunderstood for those who believing that BCH will take the place as the no.1 crypto currency in the all time history. they are all day dreamer  Grin they do totally believe that BCH can surpass bitcoin for just a short period of time. less than a year? that's totally crazy. bitcoin got his name for almost 3 years and to be more in demand for more country it takes than 3-5 years and bitcoin got his legendary own place for that very long adaptation. so after that more altcoin are dreaming that they can surpass bitcoin which is not.

and the crash of bitcoin price is intended.

No, I dont think bitcoin will ever be replaced not with BCH or any other altcoins. We have witnessed the movement of btc value and experienced the devastating (somehow) price drop of it but there is nothing to worry. Bitcoin will recover from it and yes the price drop that is currently happening in btc world is normal. I am quite thrilled on the pump of the price. For sure btc will be back with even higher value.

One thing is certain, anyone who sold off their BCH which airdropped on them must be feeling like clowns at this time. It's best to just hold both BTC and BCH because no matter who thinks what, miners do contribute to the pricing and they will mine what is profitable to them.

Not sure why I should feel like a clown. Took the airdropped BCH and swapped them to BTC. Transferred later the BTC I got to an exchange and swapped them to USD. Bought BCH for a good price then and waited with a limit order for the pump and dump of Ver and his buddies. Made 8.4 BTC out of thin air. So explain me why I should be feeling like a clown...

I don't think bitcoin cash has something to do with pricing of bitcoin and besides this drop is a normal activity in bitcoin, there is a sudden pump and a sudden drop. Bitcoin become popular because of its nature of being unpredictable and so many fluctuations and the best thing is that whatever happen at the end bitcoin value wins and remain on the top with a very high price.

Roger Ver's support to BCH will make an impact to BTC's price, that is a fact, but this will not replace it. BCH will still be an altcoin and will never be the "real" BTC in which they are targeting to do. I'm positive that BTC will always survive in any type of attack people throw at it.

We all know that BTC is very volatile and a "crash" in its price is in its normal realm. There's nothing out of ordinary in it. Whether it will be intended or not, we couldn't know the correct answer to it. We just keep in mind that cryptomarket is being manipulated by the whales and will always do what they need to do just to profit in any market they enter.

What's happening to bitcoin is a  normal activity or should I call this a cycle, the fluctuations are part of advertisement for bitcoin if the price drops surely many investors will come to buy bitcoin. Bitcoin cash on the other hand needs to gain trust of people at some point it needs to increase its value so people will be interested. They are both a digital currency but has different ways to advertise.

1) Do you think Roger Ver  with his support to BCH will Kick bitcoin price and replace it with BCH or bitcoin will survive ?

2) Do you think this crash normal (7,800$ to 6,200$) or intended Huh

It's not much of a crash - as long as BTC stays above $6000 it's doing well, remember this was the price about 12 days ago.

However, BCH does have the capacity to hurt bitcoin by taking away hashing power. It now has 54% of the hashpower, causing massive delays on the bitcoin chain. How long this persists is anyone's guess. If it lasts just a few days, no harm done, If this goes on for months, then big damage will be done.

Alyssa85 if this goes for months then it is better to sell bitcoins now while I
am in profit, too much waiting can hurt me financially. I think I am not the only
one who is thinking about that.
If others thinks similar like me next few days can determinate bitcoin destiny,
what if most of us sell bitcoins and buy BCH? This delays in transactions and
highs fees are worrying.
HashPower is going down for days, today on 54% and in a week how much
will it be?
I am with bitcoins, I invested in bitcoins, this manipulations are worrying me
and now I question my decisions, did I made a mistake?

One thing is certain, anyone who sold off their BCH which airdropped on them must be feeling like clowns at this time. It's best to just hold both BTC and BCH because no matter who thinks what, miners do contribute to the pricing and they will mine what is profitable to them.

I think BCH would not replace btc even if it has Roger Ver's support therefore bitcoin will survive. He is just pumping it though for his own benefit and soon he will stop and may abandon BCH, then go back into holding btc. This aint the worst crash i have ever seen, in fact the crash on 2013 is way more worse and I think this level of dip is normal considering that the price has been sitting on 7000$+ for a period of time now. For now btc is just gaining momentum before reaching new milestones.
I agree, BCH will not replace bitcoin though the effect of BCH in btc price is suddenly fell down these days. I believe Roger Ver make on his own way to have earn huge profit because of BCH but probably it will not really replace indeed bitcoin. I believe BCH is just temporary at this position but still Bitcoin will survice and will rising its demand again.

Many are still believing him but no way it won't replace bitcoin and btc will live.

2) Do you think this crash normal (7,800$ to 6,200$) or intended Huh
Yes, it happened even before at lower price.

Well I am in favor that bitcoin will live for a long time and that must be forever, because it has been established already and its volume has a strong foundation in terms of asset. That price will have to fluctuate but don't think it literally as crash, because normally it occurs specially more dumps is happening everyday. More will be doing day trades specially those long term holders.

In the future, these debates will stop about blocks and people will get into supporting one bitcoin. No FUD and no any other attacks and interruption to the network, we will all live. I don't believe with those thrills that they are doing right now because in the end they will be getting back to bitcoin. They are whales and they knew it on how big bitcoin is.

BCH is a pump and dump coin. It is entirely used just for trading, a pure speculation coin. It is zero threat to bitcoin. Bitcoin Cash zealots just took the opportunity of the BTC correction to promote BCH and pump it to high heaven. Right now BCH is a huuuuuge bubble. When profit taking starts its gonna come crashing back down to $500 or so and all that money will flow back into Bitcoin. I wouldn't even yet call this a crash for Bitcoin by normal measures, only if it drops well under $6000 would I consider it a full on crash. Just a correction of people moving back into alts, as could have been expected, Bitcoin Cash just happens to be the alt that sucks up most of the money for right now, it'll dump soon and that money will be dispersed between bitcoin and the rest of the alt market.

This overtaking of Bitcoin by Bitcoin Cash has long been planned and is now being executed.

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/7c7eiz/segwit_2x_is_not_going_to_happen_it_never_was/
If so, this situation could made by some people who want the bitcoin going down.
I see a lot of bitcoin transactions that stuck in 2 days. It seems that the miners are overwhelmed or indeed agreed to stall the time in speed up confirmation of each transaction, thus making the state of bitcoin increasingly pressed in the market.

Looks like a pump and dump scheme is being used on BCH now. I can't find any other explanation to it.
Yes,BCH is just pumped and dumped by its supporters and its really a shocking experience to see that BCH has reached such a high price. Its immediately happening after segwit2x cancellation. It clearly shows the collaberation between BCH team and S2X team.It is just done to devalue the brand bitcoin and replace it with BCH.

In my own honestly its hard to know if bitcoin could stay and keep increasing but because of many company are supporting bitcoin will be stay as king of cryptocurrency. Bitcoin will be still main..
Bitcoin cash is just like other altcoin that could pump and dump since  bitcoin cash is new and still no company that can use bitcoin cash as payment processor
So it will be hard to think that bitcoin cash is the reason why the price of bitcoin is decreased .. and its impossible bitcoin could be replace by bitcoin cash..
agree but there is no other way to support miners given that the difficulty is increasing but to keep bitcoin value increasing ! However as bitcoin price increase transactions will become less and less affordable  , bitcoin cash might have a chance but given that bitcoin has a strong community it less likely to happen

roger's publicly identified coins weren't moving at BCH's lows (per greg maxwell). i'd love to see an update now. he wasn't willing to sell his BTC for BCH when it was bearish, so i wonder if a 4x from the lows is really good enough for him. if you follow the mystery BCH miner's coinbase transactions, they haven't moved anything either.

for both roger ver and jihan wu, this is looking like a long term play. i'm guessing both of them are smart enough not to put all their eggs in one basket. they are both sitting on massive amounts of both BTC and BCH. they don't need to take risks like that.

2) Do you think this crash normal (7,800$ to 6,200$) or intended Huh

there was sort of a blow off top after the segwit2x cancellation news. that usually leads to a sell off. a lot of good analysts were expecting a drop to $5k before the news even came out. the BCH rush may have added to it (people selling BTC to buy BCH) but i think it was mostly just typical supply and demand and TA at play.

1 I don't think because for my personally I was considering as the bitcoin cash just another pnd. With so many people try to FUD to the bitcoin original. bitcoin cash will never replace the bitcoin original

2 I think that this should be considered as the bottom of the bitcoin itself. you can see some latest article about FUD from the bitcoin cash supporters.

BCH not big effect about bitcoin price
BCH can't kill bitcoin, bitcoin price downt not effect about BCH price or BCH issue
agree bitcoin price going down  at $6500 is not because of bitcoin cash , it just have some price correction and we could expect that it will recover maybe by next week , I really don't understand why people is linking bitcoin cash with bitcoin since  it has really nothing to do with it. Bitcoin cash is just a copy of bitcoin , many already tried to kill it but the good thing  is it always survive

Many People Facing Issue Of Unconfirmed Transactions of BTC From Last 24 hours or so , this is happening because miners using their hashpower to BCH ( BITCOIN CASH ) , this is ridiculous and dangerous as there are thousands of unconfirmed transactions are lying on blockchain which happened only this time !!!

Nope it won't. Ver and his buddies probably were the catalysts (or they just took advantage) of a bigger correction that was coming sooner or later (if you check the weekly chart of bitcoin you will see what I mean, https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/coinbase/btcusd, strong parabolic growth isn't sustainable it had to come down at some point). Whatever is going on with bitcoin cash, planned pump or not I still think bitcoin will remain dominant. Bitcoin was able to survive trough many years and overcame a lot of obstacles on it's way. It's been declared dead countless of times so I firmly believe bitcoin will last through this one as well.
