This new card business is just a way these exchange are  trying to integrate their business vertically,  some has said we are likely going to see some of these big exchanges obtain banking licence in future, maybe when the price of Bitcoin hit $100k.

The Coinbase card is not available in my country and moreover most of the features of this Coinbase exchange is locked where I’m living, I can’t access it. But, even if it was possible for me to make use of it, I won’t try that, because it doesn’t make any sense.

Just look at this, you buy Bitcoin using fiat and store them in your Coinbase wallet and then get a Coinbase wallet debit card and then use it to purchase online and the money converted from Bitcoin to fiat again lol, so what’s the need of it? Or doesn’t your bank offer you a debit card that can be used for purchase online and for withdrawal on ATM?

What could a card do when we already load our cards on our mobiles and then use them at our own disposal ?
There are apps being used by people who want the cards to be inside their mobiles an guess what ?
Making a card would just be going back in time , instead people can just  get a more secure and faster method of payment with respect to their wallets.
Lightning network is good but it has flaws , Therefore I think instead of cards one can focus on a better transactions , which are cheaper and faster.

I've tried to stay away from cards that allow you to spend Bitcoin, because I've had the attitude over the last few years of trying to hoard Bitcoin without spending much of it. If I did spend it I would replace it rather quickly with my fiat funds. However, after running into a few issues recently which I've documented in my post history  I'm considering looking to use Bitcoin more like a currency, and less like a investment. I started off Bitcoin using it as a currency, but the potential that Bitcoin had to go up in price I always begrudged spending it at lower value amounts. However, this isn't because I planned to dump Bitcoin back into fiat whenever it reached a certain point, its just the fact I didn't want to spend 0.025 at $100, when later it could be $10,000, and I look back, and regret that decision. So, I've opted in the last few years to make most purchases in fiat, and hoard with Bitcoin until I'm happy with the value. I think this has probably been a mistake, and I'll be looking at cutting out banks for most of my transactions, and only using them for certain things. Mainly, for receiving transactions such as salary, paying bills, and purchasing Bitcoin.

The card isn't available for The US, mainly for European countries. See https://help.coinbase.com/en/coinbase/trading-and-funding/other/coinbase-card-faq.html.
But since Coinbase is now a card issuer (since its partnership with Visa), I'm sure the list is going to grow exponentially in the coming months.
Thanks Ive seen the list. Yeah most of the countries are from Europe. Ive read that it can be used internationally both offline and online, means as long as terminal supports Visa this will work too.

I have the Coinbase VISA debit card, I can speak positively about it. As a rule I am a HODLER, I’ve been buying & HODLING since 2014 but the Coinbase card intrigued me so I got one. I’ve only used it 3 times but it was great, worked perfectly fine.
Congratulations to you, I wanted to have that cause is hassle free. But my country is on Asia so probably it will take a while before Coinbase implement it on us. Can I ask? You said you used it 3x mainly all for purchase only of crypto? Or spenf some fiat out of it? From what I read its work like simple debit card but can be used to purchased cryptocurrency with more options.

I don't request loans~
Its nice how they integrated the card with Visa payments. Visa can be pretty much used in almost any type of online transaction which makes it very useful imo. If the concept of card usage is implemented, various stores around the world should start implementing qr codes or the nfc chip instead (which is better) in their mode of payments. This really makes the world seem like at the age of advancement already, where the idea of fiat payment is not really that much needed. Of course, there are still possible security concerns over it in the near future, but well, that's still to be considered, but in the future.

The news here isn't really about Coinbase and its debit card, it's something existing for some time now. The article is about the fact the card can be integrated with Google Pay for contactless payment for your offline purchases.

It's only available in 12 countries by the way, and if your phone hasn't NFC and if the terminal doesn't support it you won't be able to use this feature. The majority of people don't own a device’s NFC chip.

Bitcpay offers similar kind of service where you can buy a Visa enabled prepaid card using your cryptocurrency. I am happy to see Coinbase offering a similar service because such kind of service actually helps bitcoin to get adopted by mass.
I had tried to order a card from Bitpay, but my bad luck that they don't support my country. However at least some countries user's getting benefits from it and obviously this is a positive signs for cryptocurrency. I have plan to collect card from coinbase if they allow my country. But I am in suspension if they allow since buy sell crypto through coinbase from our country is restricted. This is the one of most important things to use crypto directly on our real life if we can use it ourselves although via visa/master cards.

This is enticing news for coinbase. Id love to use a card that can stored cryptocurrency. Is coinbase is an international or can be used outside US territory? If this is applicable then Id love to use or avail it. I dont mind if there are none merchants accepting cryptos, since I can easily convert my crypto into visa prepaids.

A card loaded with crypto currency is very useful. Bitcpay offers similar kind of service where you can buy a Visa enabled prepaid card using your cryptocurrency.
I hope we have some same card service in our country. Cause the benefits of having an easy access is indeed proven to be useful on adoption.

It is a nice feature for any card but I hope that this innovation wil go further because this is a promising thing for cryptocurrency industry. Imagine having your card stolen but can't be used for fraud because it is layered with the security of crypto. We can be a part of this innovation by supporting it and spreading reputation about the good effects of having to use it.

If you have a prepaid card loaded with cryptos, it doesn't really matter whether a merchant accepts cryptos or not. All they need is that the card is visa or mastercard enabled or not! So such kind of services really help cryptos to become mainstream. Coinbase has a huge customer base so I really hope they will be able to help a larger mass to use crypto for their daily transactions.

From the previous weeks, we are now facing a huge problem related to the stock market and the whole process of earning that is related to the fiat currency and cryptocurrency but my focus today is the use with the cryptocurrency because it is the fastest and secured transaction nowadays and now we are facing a huge problem in the economy because of the spreading of the outbreak happening today that is the coronavirus or the Ncov19 and there are rules today that we need to avoid having contact to the other people and this is the best time for the working of digital currency today they are now widely spreading and support the use of cryptocurrency and online payment because they are avoiding getting outside just to pay for their bills and other stuff they need just to survive to the outbreak.

Yesterday is the releasing of the and approval of the coinbase for having a card transaction because they see the potential of this kind of transaction payment, we all know that the coinbase is one of the largest exchange platforms that you can make investment and trade your coins to earn more profit, by this they conclude and use this opportunity to make more convenient with the help of having a coinbase card this card is the same like the atm and debit card we have today but the difference is they are using the cryptocurrency and automatically converted into fiat currency. Only a few countries will have the opportunity to use this kind of card today and also they can only use this for the Google Play for a meantime.
