Cardano is only a whitepaper at this point, and doesn't have a specified function, it's just an open-source blockchain "made by researchers".
Elastos is a decentralised OS platform (virtual machine) that is creating a smart web, where virtual goods get the same charachteristics as real goods - price and scarcity.
Each Dapp released on the platform is aiming to bring more value to the ecosystem, Zapya (500 million users), Panda Energy Group (conglomerate of the biggest green energy companies in China) and a few more are presenting their dapps they are going to release on Elastos in march 15th. (

Creators are incentivised to switch from the current internet to the smart web, on the smart web each file has an ID, the file can't be copied or plagiarised, and the source is always authentic. when you buy a file (book, game, picture, video etc. it's like you buy a real item, the file is yours, it stays in the virtual machine and you can access it anytime you want, from whichever machine you use that has Elastos installed (IOS, Android, PC) the files you have don't take up any memory, since they're stored on the blockchain.
Once you finish using a file you can resell it whenever you want, and since some files will be very valuable and have a limited supply their value may rise, that way you create trade of virtual goods.
Elastos might be with the big players in time. Can't say the same for kyber. Also look at the team, the founder of Elastos has worked on this project for 18 years, ever since he left Microsoft. They didn't accept his idea, he figured he might as make it himself.
