Mining through mobile won't be that effective, even with high powered GPU's what's been mined is pretty small when calculated to the time period, power consumption based on the increasing difficulty. In this regard an Mobile based mining is possible, but it won't be that effective.

The All-in-One Cryptocurrency Exchange
The Electroneum opens the way the mineral cryptocurrencies on the phone will revolutionize the mining of small-value altcoins. As current trends in ICO investment, as well as low-value altcoins, are very popular, they can earn huge profits just by investing and monitoring the exchange rate.

Not only are people going to be disappointed they will also realise that the price will all dip further, I personally don't understand why there is a hype behind this project, mobile mining can not secure a platform, it will be interested to see this work to prove me wrong

Battery of mobiles will die in 2-3 hrs with enabled mining of Electroneum Grin

"While mining for Electroneum, your phone won’t be performing real mining (as is done with a computer), but rather a simulation of mining.

The Electroneum team has described their mobile app as a Mobile Mining Experience.

Instead of actually using your phone’s CPU to solve complicated cryptographic problems (as is done with real mining), the app will continually monitor the available CPU power on your phone. In this way, it will determine the amount of CPU power that could have been used for mining, had the phone actually been mining.

Your phone will then be issued with a hash rate (speed of mining, if you will) based on its available CPU power. ETN coins will be credited to your online wallet based on this hash rate."

So no real mining at all -> normal battery life

I posted about this on Steemit here, but I’m not going to be the kind of person to just drop a link and go.

Anyway, Electroneum is activating their mobile mining on the 5th of March (three days from now). Here’s an excerpt from their newsletter:

It’s sitting at about 0.069$ at the time of my posting and this news doesn’t seem to have effected the price yet. I’m expecting a modest pump soon after it actually happens, so this is defiantly an event you should look into (‘cause remember, do your own research).

Tip Me:

This is really great news. I tested the mining and it does seem to be working. Now if ETN can just get put onto a bigger exchange, the price should finally go up a bit. The ability to mine with a cell phone will probably put this coin into the hands of new crypto users and will do amazing things for the community.

Electroneum’s mobile miner allows anyone with a smartphone to earn a few US dollars worth of cryptocurrency every month by mining Electroneum. It uses very little electricity, a tiny amount of data, and importantly it requires no technical knowledge. A few dollars per month may not seem like much

If you live in the west or EU. You will probably end up spending more money on electricity than you gain from mining on your phone. As it has to constantly upload commands to the mining server

Any info available on the expected gains?
Well it's up about 6%, although I don't know if it'll continue to climb or not. I'm expecting a more long term gain over the next 6-9 months also, then from there it'll probably fade out.

I'll have to download the app now. I wish I followed Electroneum more closely. Quick question, can you integrate Electroneum mobile mining into other mobile games? So you can be playing an app and it's mining in the background?

I am very curious about electroneum, so its easy for us to mine a coin using only a cell phone. Electroneum reminds me of a project called mangocoinz. Mangocoinz can be mined with just a smartphone, we just install the app and let it run to mine. We'll see later, hopefully its users can get many profits with this electreneum mining.

LOL come on. You deserve olympic Gold for your naiveness.  Why on earth would anyone use such currency? Instead of to be secured by mining it is with simulation of mining.

Electroneum using CryptoNight algo and is mined with gpu's and cpu's just like Monero. So how do you mean electroneum is not secured by mining? The mobile mining is not actually mining on the blockchain which means it dosen't use any battery or cpu power. It's a simulation, like a game, where you can earn ETN by running a "miner" on your phone.

I wonder if adroid phones were strong enough to have the capacity in mining. Will they not be broke if ever we overdo the mining? or how much ram should our phones need so that it wont lag in our cp.

That is huge news for electroneum, i hope that the claims of $1 per etn during ico will finally be realized, also the partnerships and potential implementation of etn as a currency in big telecom companies can make etn into a household name.

Electroneum become one of altcoin developer which is very active to do their roadmap.
5th of march seems like in few days but the price not get the impact yet. I hope the price soon pump when the news realize on 5th.

I hope you realize this will not be any real mining but just a simultin of mining and premined coins will be sent to those people having this simulation on their phones.
What? This is the first I've heard of that. Could you provide a source?
