However is there a reason i still have the old electrum icon on my desktop? I click on it and nothing shows up. I then type in electrum in start menu and see it called electrum 2.6. So i have to copy and paste that into my desktop then as shortcut?
The other issue is why is my bitcoins in mBTC? So instead of having say 10.20909090 bitcoins showing... electrum 2.6 shows 120.0909090. Is there a way to change this?

You probably used an installer previously, hence why you have both versions now. Yes, if you used an installer it would have updated your older version.
Okay i changed it to btc in preferences. Another question. So the default fee for sending btc is 0.0005 btc? In electrum 1.9, it was 0.0002 btc.
What is the minimum fee for sending btc? I assume you could still put 0 if you like? But can the fee be 0.0002btc like in electrum 1.9 or its now 0.0005btc?
