Nope, OP is using 2.5.4, it no longer allows importing keys into existing wallets.

Good catch, I didn't realize that I wasn't running 2.5.4 (I'm using 2.3.2 right now). If the sweep option isn't working for OP, he could always try using an older Electrum version, such as 2.3.2, and then importing the keys.

You can import WIF in 2.5.4, but you have to create that specific wallet type first:

You need to select "Restore a wallet or import keys" when selecting File>New

Is there anyway to put the private key into the wallet?
Yes there is:

  • Go to Wallet -> Private Keys -> Import
  • Enter your Electrum Password, and then accept the warning - as a heads up, if you ever decide to recover your Electrum wallet through your seed, your imported private keys won't be recovered
  • Enter your private keys and then click Import, you should then have the new private keys in your wallet, making the funds in them spendable

Not sure but it looks like you're trying to send the coins from a watch only address and because it doesn't have its private key in the wallet, electrum is not offering you the sign/broadcast/send options.

Did you restore this wallet from Master public key?

I am using Electrum 2.5.4.

I am having a problem sending bitcoin.

I click the send tab, specify the pay to, description, amount and press the send button.

Then a dialogue box appears stating the Transaction ID, Status: Unsigned, Amount Sent, Transaction Fee, Inputs and Outputs.

It doesn't seem to include a 'broadcast' 'send' or 'sign' button. The only buttoms are Copy Save and Close.

If I press 'Close', nothing happens, the transaction does not seem to broadcast to the network, and I don't think the transaction is being signed or completed.

The balance remains the same, which is frustrating because I want to move the bitcoins from electrum wallet to my trezor.

Many thanks in advance for any help!
