it's not possible signing a multisig address (address that begins with 3.) with electrum.

Ohhh thank you Cheesy
How to proceed? I really need to prove the ownership of the address, will the bitcoin core wallet let me sign it?

no. afaik there's no wallet around that can do this. shorena might know something about it.

what version are you using? and on the second box of the sign message window, does it say address or public key? if it says public key then you have to enter the public key (which also means that you're running an old version).

I should be on the latest version, 2.6.4.
In the second box it asks me for an address, and that's what I am putting in it.
Another weird thing: when I try to encrypt a message it just lets me do it.
When I try to decrypt the very same encrypted message and address it just says me address not found.

Can the whole wallet be somehow corrupted?

Hi there, I am sticking with this problem which I can't get it out from.
I am trying to sign a message to prove the ownership of a given address but when I type in the message and the address and then click on sign I receive a blank text error.
I tried it on electurm both windows and linux version, with no luck.

Any hint? Thank you in advance.
