Similar problem. I hope someone can spare a moment to help.

I’ve become stuck with Btc in my electrum wallet on Linux Ubuntu.

1. The wallet I have used previous to both send and receive from.

‘Originally’ I set it up for .multisig with another wallet I have on my Mac. I did some test transactions each way, From Ubuntu to Mac I needed to enter in a Master Public Key at some stage to send from the Linux wallet.

The next time I sent from the wallet I didn’t need to for some reason, but it worked.

2. Months later now, I’ve been trying to send from it again, and it produces a Transaction box, the top line reading Transaction ID , Status: Partially signed (3/6), and lists the 3 inputs that make up the sum in my wallet address I am trying to send. In Output, it shows the receiving address listed in my Mac wallet I am trying to send to.

It did not ask for the Master Public Key fo the co-sign wallet.

I can only copy or save this ‘transaction,’ or close it.

3. I have tried to save it and Load the transaction file in my Mac wallet. The same transaction box shows up, and again the status is partially signed (3/6). However, the options to sign or broadcast it, are not available (not highlighted and active), only copy, save and close again.

How can I complete the transaction, and sign/broadcast it?
I cannot get my Bitcoin out of the wallet. I have the words seed, and private key. I tried to open another (newer version) of Electrum on Ubtuntu, and ‘restore a wallet or import keys’ but the the result was a message saying there was No Input found.

My old wallet shows a green symbol in the bottom right hand corner, funds were last received back in July, and clearly show a positive Balance.

Your help is most appreciated!

You appear to have 2 wallets:

wallet_try1 [2of2] - This is a "2-of-2" MultiSig wallet... it requires 2 private keys to sign every transaction. When you created this wallet, it would have asked you to enter the "xpriv", "xpub" or "seed" of the co-signer. There is NO way to create a MultiSig wallet in Electrum WITHOUT entering the co-signer details.

default_wallet [2fa] - This is effectively a "2-of-3" MultiSig wallet, using the TrustedCoin API. It requires at least 2 of 3 private keys to sign every transaction. Your wallet contains 1, TrustedCoin have 1 and your 2FA seed is able to regenerate the third if required.

When you created your "wallet_try1 [2of2]", it will have asked you to create a seed, use an existing seed or use "public or private keys"... do you remember which option you chose? And do you remember what co-signer xpub or xpriv you used?

As said, I have no experience with multisigs. Was jst throwing ideas based on what I know about regular wallets. But ideas run out.
Hope someone else can answer your questions.

I find hard to believe you have not been given the seed.

Are you on windows? In past I accidentaly removed my own wallet file but was able to get it back by using system restore option (luckily there was restore point right after the wallet was created). This is last advice I can give you.

Pretty expensive lesson you have learned.

Thanks guys for your response, unfortunately, I searched the entire computer and could not find the 1st wallet, also there's no seed option available in the menu of the second wallet and I do not reckon I created it using a seed. When I open the wallet or try to send from it, it asks for the password (which I know).. what do you think I can do now?

The seed was given to you when you created the wallet. It's set of 12 (or might be more) english words.
If you didn't save this seed then I'm affraid there is nothing you can do. BTCs are gone.

and if you can't locate the "1of2" I think you can restore entire wallet using the seed phrase which was given to you when wallet was created (I hope you kept it).
But this time be careful. You are wiser now so it should not be problem.

Did you go through this official guide?
http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/multisig.html

In order to access/send funds you'll need to have access to TWO wallet files. Looks like you have the "2of2" looking at the wallet name you mentioned, but you'll need to locate "1of2" and sign the same transaction from there too.

Maybe this will help:

You can save the partially signed transaction to a file (using the “save” button), transfer that to the machine where the second wallet is running (via usb stick, for example) and load it there (using Tools -> Load transaction -> from file)

Hi guys,

I have bitcoin on electrum 2.9.3, I have no issue receiving on it, however, I just got Ledger Nano s and tried to send it to its address.

Normally, I go to the send tab, type the amount and the address then click send and type my password. However, electrum does not want to continue the transaction and there's a message box as follows:

Transaction ID: Unknown
Status: Partially signed (2/4)

And there are few buttons at the bottom of the box as follows:

Copy, save, send to cosigner, sign (this one is greyed), Broadcast (this one is greyed as well).

When I click the send to cosigner one, it says "failed to send transaction to cosigning pool"

Can you please help me to fix this issue?

Thanks
