For questions if you need, please search for available answers in those channels: https://electrum.org/#community
From the official website of Electrum, you can easily see there is no contact emails, they only guide that if users have questions, ask for help from (Community > Support) :
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=98.0
https://www.reddit.com/r/Electrum/
From that, be very careful with the above account that claims to be Electrum Support (a newbie account). The age of that account is serious thing because how long Electrum wallet has been here? Years, but their support account just created recently (about 2 hours ago) and has still been a Newbie.  Smiley

It is very simple to create your new wallet, with Electrum wallet.

File > New/ Restore
Then a new window will popup and I suggest you to rename your wallet if you want to backup your wallet.dat file, beside wallet seed. It is only another type of backup your wallet but most important you need to do is backup your wallet seed safely.

After creating a new wallet, with new seed, and new set of addresses, to be safe, you have to retest your backups of seed, and password by open a wallet with backuped-seed and password.

Retesting them all successfully before start to use your new wallet.

Hi all,
Can anyone advise if I can get a new seed code for my electrum wallet.

My issue is I think the person who helped me set it up may be a scammer who viewed my seed code when I set up the account.

Do you have some bitcoin on that address you created?

IF not, than don't worry and just install fresh Electrum and generate new seed.
If you have Bitcoin then you should move it to new address you create.

Important thing is to backup your new seed words or private key on safe place.
Remember that if you lose them , you will also lose your crypto.

@poweron, Verifying is a lot more credible in terms of proving authenticity, I recommend doing it every time before installing. Lots of ppl have lost funds because of fake electrums which could've been prevented had they verified it first.

also, take note of this
GPG signatures are a proof that distributed files have been signed by the owner of the signing key. For example, if this website was compromised and the original Electrum files had been replaced, signature verification would fail, because the attacker would not be able to create valid signatures.

Hi Potato Chips,
Thank you, I downloaded the setup file from your link and when I ran it it opened the original wallet, so I think the wallet is genuine.
I am now going through your beginners info, try to make new wallet and connect automatically .
Thanks again for advice
Cheers
John

How about the old one did you uninstall it before you install the new one?

If you still have the old Electrum without verifying it there is a possibility that the old Electrum might be fake and you can be still infected with fake Electrum.

To make sure if the old Electrum set up by someone who helped you is fake is to verify the old Electrum installer
Do you have the old Electrum installer? If ever you have it in your PC better verify it follow the guide from the guide below.

- How To Verify your Electrum Download

If ever it's a fake better uninstall the old one and scan the whole PC with AV for malicious software to avoid being access by someone else remotely.

Yes you can. Just create a new wallet and transfer the funds there. Here's a step by step guide TUTORIAL: How to use Electrum (for beginners)

but before that, where did you download your electrum? did you verify the file to make sure it's not a fake one? if not I recommend doing so. Here's the official site and the tutorial can be found by scrolling down https://electrum.org/#download

edit: you can't change your seed but you can create a new one. Different seed, different set of addresses, it won't be the same anymore. Just to be clear since you might meant that based on the title of your thread.
