Untick the "Auto-connect" and choose a server manually and click 'ok' and then restart it, that's what I do when it I don't see the green light, if it still doesn't works then something is wrong with your network, try stopping the downloads or if you have other apps running which uses the internet.
you may have issue with blocks, see application support make sure all file is correct and no corrupt file.
You are in the wrong sub forum mate. :-)Electrum is an SPV client and does not download the blockchain.

Hi, is any one else having issues with electrum? i have been sitting here for over 2 hours with the syncing stuck.
i have tried many servers from the list and all have the same issue:
