this didn't work for me Sad
That is unfortunate... for you. However, that doesn't make it nonsense Tongue

I don't seem to be able to connect to that server either, but that isn't suprising... "hsmiths" is one of the older Electrum servers, it has been around for a long time and it wouldn't surprise me if they were a priority target for the DoS attack... also, given that one person claimed it had worked, no doubt everyone tried to use it... possibly DoSing the server some more! Roll Eyes

Just keep trying various servers on the server tab... right click one, select "use as server"... then wait at least 5 minutes before you attempt to try another one. Unfortunately, the network is just slow right now, and will be until this DoS attack ends (or the devs get the updates completed to mitigate it). Undecided

At this point I really wouldn't import my private keys into that wallet. Something is definitely not going right
As per their twitter account: https://twitter.com/ElectrumWallet/status/1114987055736655873

They Electrum server network is under DDoS attack... Undecided

Note that this does not in any way affect the safety or security of your wallet, private keys or your BTC... it just means that syncing your wallet can be problematic, and broadcasting transactions might be problematic. Personally, I've not had any issues with it... I synced up a new copy of my hardware wallet a few hours ago and that took less than 2 minutes.

Best advice, is to simply try manually connecting to different servers... note that you need to Right Click on a server from the list on the Network tab and select "Use as server" to actually change servers.

I use electrum as watch only wallet (no private keys imported) and my client is also having difficulties while connecting to the servers.

It works every once in a while but I have to wait long times before it syncs or had to reopen the program.

At this point I really wouldn't import my private keys into that wallet. Something is definitely not going right

I haven't been in my wallet for two days. Electrum-I'm using version 3.3.4. I pick the servers manually, but the room doesn't work. What do I need to do if I have an active server you are using Please help
