hi can anyone provide a solid IP and port to sync to, it's been a few days and nothing is working.

im going to switch over to Windows TOR wallet since this version im using isnt syncing well.
Just use the manual option in electrum wallet, click the green circle then uncheck select circle automatically after that type or choose walle.dedyn.io with port 50002

This server is working fine to me.

Better to always use the latest electrum wallet if you are having issue with old version of wallet. For me, 3.0.6 version is working fine to me.

As you mention v2.4.1 specifically... are you talking about the Electrum fork for "Verge" aka "Electrum-XVG"? Huh

If so, there are known issues with this wallet and the servers included by default. I suggest you try the servers listed here: https://www.reddit.com/r/vergecurrency/comments/7wbyu2/how_to_fix_electrumxvg_not_connecting/dtzmuep/

I do not remember where I downloaded it from, but I have used the wallet several times before and it worked just fine. Using this wallet's seed on a newly downloaded wallet is good advice, thanks!

You may also check wether your electrum version is the original one before loading up more funds.
You can either check the signature (best way of verifying the file) (small guide: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@jklepatch/how-to-verify-the-integrity-of-electrum-wallet-executable-on-windows).
Or you go the fast way and simply compare the hashes.

Assuming you are in windows, you can use this command (on command line) to hash your executable:
Code:
certutil -hashfile YOUR_FILE_YOU_WANT_TO_HASH sha256

SHA256-Hash of electrum-3.1.2-setup.exe:
ab82319dff3bef0604fe173d45d94e3ede7dc3947d41ce59976a0b07c0357c71

SHA256-Hash of electrum-3.1.2-portable.exe:

You can also try it on the same computer renaming the electrum data folder first in order to remember you have that stored somewhere.

Restoring it should fix the issue.

x-post from the other thread. this will probably fix the issue:

I have PC with windows 10 and electrum version 2.7.17 and I have tried restarting both the client and the whole computer. I have used the wallet before, this is the longest i have ever seen it sync.
Why are you using this version? Electrum had a vulnerability that was fixed on version 3.0.5 and IIRC some people with Tails were having sync problems until they upgraded their wallet to version 2.9.3+;

Electrum 3.1.2 is already available. Update your wallet and try again: https://electrum.org/#download

If it stuck in the synchronisation process it means you already have the seed. You can check in another computer in your possession by restoring from the seed.

What you can try next is to download the latest version which will overwrite automatically over your version if you have an old one and restart electrum. If your internet connection is good then it should be no problem for electrum to start normally.

My Electrum wallet has been sychronizing for about a half a day now. I have tried switching servers and restarting but no success. I need help.

Can you provide more information. What computer/OS version/electrum version?

Also, when you say you have tried restarting, is it just the electrum client you have tried to restart of the entire computer?

Is it the first time you have run electrum or have you run it prior to this and the error has just started?

you downloaded the wallet from here: electrum.org?
if no you have installed the wrong wallet.
if yes: whats the color of the dot in the right corner? nor green i think.

Worst part is that I sent btc to it and it has therefore not received them.

what you can do it install an other wallet. use the seed from electrum and use with the new wallet.
or export the private keys and use them in an other wallet.

i dont know which wallet works. but you can google it.
