it still shows pending
how can i cancel that payment and resend it with a higher fee??

and should i use dynamic fees in the future or should i set the fee manually for each transaction

i was always very satisfied with electrum but im pissed that it takes so long now to send transactions, especially since i try to trade bitcoins

Yes, if you are unsure about the fees just use dynamic fees.
You can check the current sat/byte fee from https://bitcoinfees.21.co/

i dont even have the RBF feature on my electrum wallet

so how long do i have to wait for the transaction to get rejected or finally confirmed
RBF is only available for Electrum version 2.7.0 and above. Anything below that do not support Opt-in RBF.

The waiting time depends on the amount of fee/byte you paid. You paid about 0.00009109 BTC (41satoshi/byte) while the average now would be roughly  180satoshis/byte. It would likely take a few days to a week for it to confirm, depending on the backlog of transactions before you.

I think I understand what may have happened...

If you look here https://blockchain.info/charts/mempool-count you can see that 4 days ago, the transaction volume was very low... Dynamic Fees suggestion would have been low. Then, just as you sent your transaction, the spam attack started and the number of unconfirmed transactions shot up to like 60K+... so everyone started paying higher fees and your transaction got buried Sad

You just got unlucky, no one could really have predicted that the volume of transactions was going to just spike up like that... Electrum can't control people spamming the network... a lot of people using all different wallets will have been caught out by this.

Electrum does have a nifty feature that can help prevent his from happening again tho... make sure that you have "Replace-By-Fee" option enabled for your transactions (Tools -> Preferences -> Fees and make sure that "Propose replace-by-fee" is set to always). That way, in future, should this happen again and you get stuck with a low fee, you can just re-send the transaction with a higher fee Smiley

If your transaction is showing in the history as "Replaceable" you can just right click on it and select "Increase the fee"... Ref: http://coinour.com/index.php/how-to-apply-replace-by-fee-to-save-the-bitcoin-transaction-fees/

Have you enabled the opt-in RBF feature before sending the transaction? If then you can spend again the same coins with higher fee. Look the documentation of electrum here and a thread of the forum for same thing here

I guess it will be dropped by the network since it has low transaction  and that its just a dust transaction. You can wait it until the network drops your TX and send it again with higher amount and transaction fee.

Without the TXID and transaction details we can only guess... my guess would be that you sent the transaction with a fee that was too low and the transaction has not been confirmed.
