A paper backup is a quite safe method to protect bitcoins, but you still need to load private keys from paper using a trusted computer to send your coins to somebody else.
You can see the comparsion table here http://doc.satoshilabs.com/trezor-faq/differences.html#a-paper-backup-of-my-keys .

Well more secure than everything except paper wallets.

Yes well.. Paper wallets are brilliant but Trezor instead of security bring more functionalities than a paper wallet. Smiley

Isn't?

I think I'm going to get the trezor it seems more secure.

More secure than what? Smiley

it is very secure. Well ... for now it seems so as nobody spotted any bug.

I believe that Trezor is the future of our wallets.

I am sure that more companies will start to create their own "Trezors".
We already have PiWallet but it seems to be too big for everyday use :]
Soon others will do their Trezors and perhaps prices will be much better to buy :]

I finally have a satisfactory setup for storing and using my bitcoins: electrum + trezor

Good for you :-)

I was very excited when the Trezor release was announced and I am still waiting to get mine :-)

And why you choose Electrum? Just curious was that a choice after experiences with other wallets or just 1st  one which you choose?

Regards.
