Just so you know you were hit by this bug: https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/3788

It's been fixed and the fix should be there in the next release.

Thanks a lot for your answers Lucius and mocacinno,

the thing is i already tried with Electrum version 3.0.5 on 3 different operating systems, each time with a clean install. So blockchain_headers file, etc. cannot be the cuplrit.

I tried several different versions of electrum now and the only version that is able to properly sync and get the transaction history for 3Co8FdRwsRRYowbHaryoUHi8vQfGAht2Sj for me is version 2.9.2 which i used to transfer my coins into a new wallet that i created with 3.0.5 and that is working properly now...:-)

Depending on which operating system you are using you can try to delete blockchain_headers file which is located here : http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html and then run Electrum and let it sync.It is possible that some of the files are corrupted since you eliminated a problem with synchronization.

Before you do anything be sure to have backup of your wallet files/seed.If deletion of blockchain_headers file does not help, you should try clean install of Electrum which means uninstallation of Electrum and deletion of Electrum folder with all data.

One extra remark: stop running 2.9.x on Tails... If you run 2.9.x, you're running a version with a huge bug that can be exploited, even on tails...

Thank you very much for trying Omega!

Interesting that it works for you though. For me it doesn't.

Even if I use 185.64.116.15 as server as you did. And I tried with version 3.0.5 on Windows, 2.9.x on Tails and with the current Android version on the phone (using mobile data and thus eliminating the lan).

 Huh Huh

P.s.: Which version / client did you use?

I managed to make your a watch-only wallet using your address and it worked fine. It's showing 0.1096 BTC as balance. Electrum connect to a server to retrieve the transaction history and balance so the only thing that I can think of is to change the server. I'm currently connected to 185.64.116.15 so you can try it.

Dear All,

long-time Electrum user here and I ran into a really strange problem. I created a new 2fa wallet and then sent bitcoins to one of its addresses from an exchange. The coins were properly received as evident from https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/address/3Co8FdRwsRRYowbHaryoUHi8vQfGAht2Sj

However Electrum is unable to sync this new wallet. Now I narrowed it down even further:

If I create a new watch only wallet with the adress in question: 3Co8FdRwsRRYowbHaryoUHi8vQfGAht2Sj then Electrum is no longer able to sync it and balance is always shown as 0.0.

Note: It is not my device / internet connection -> I can successfully sync all my other electrum wallets and I already tried different devices and connections.

Anyone encountered anything like that? Can you succesfully create a watch only wallet with my BTC address: 3Co8FdRwsRRYowbHaryoUHi8vQfGAht2Sj

Thanks a lot in advance!
