I took the advice of OmegaStarScream...It worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I uninstalled the Electrum program via %programfiles% . When I tried to delete an electrum folder that was
located within %appdata% I received an error that stated that that file could not be deleted because there is a program open that

is using it. So rebooted the system, then I reopened %appdata% and deleted the last file that was associated with Electrum.

After that I went to www.electrum.org and downloaded version 3.3.4 (latest). Everything is working P-E-R-F-E-C-T-L-Y!!!

I wish to thank all of you, for time, and advice.

If nothing worked,
try to install v3.3.3. That version is safe from the phishing messages and not affected by the server's DOS attack patch.
Just do not install versions lower than v3.3.3.

You can download older versions in the download page "Previous Releases" Link next to "Release Notes".

My OS is windows 10
I'm running Electrum v3.3.4, just fine on Windows 10.

Have you checked for system updates? "Start -> Settings -> Updates and Security"

Make sure you have downloaded and installed all updates... AND that you have restarted the PC... see if that fixes your problem before worrying about downloading unnecessary updates using KB (knowledge base) articles.

If it doesn't, it might be that your wallet file has become corrupted. Users have had issues in the past with a corrupt wallet file causing this error (Electrum attempts to open the last used wallet file automatically on startup).

Do you have your 12 word seed mnemonic backup? If so, you can try the following to see if it helps.

Firstly, uou will need to move all the wallet files from "C:\Users\[YOURUSERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Electrum\wallets" to a temporary location. NOTE: if you cannot see the "AppData" folder, you can either press Start and type: %appdata% and then press enter or you can follow the directions here for showing hidden files/folders.

Make a backup of all those wallet files, then delete them from the %AppData%\Electrum\wallets folder... Once you have deleted them, try starting up Electrum. If it opens OK, then a corrupt wallet file was causing your problem. You can now restore your wallet using your 12 word seed mnemonic backup.

Are you using a GNU/Linux OS? If I'm correct you need to install Python since Electrum uses it. If you have it try to update it to the latest version.
If you're using Windows there is a KB file to download from Microsoft, It happens usually to people who are still using Win 7

HI

I tried to open my Electrum wallet version 3.3.4   and I got this error message: Fatal error detected Failed to execute script run_electrum

What happened, What do I do about this??? I downloaded another version, it appears that I have the latest version (3.3.4). I downloaded
another 3.3.4 version when I tried to open it I received the SAME error message?Huh?   Please help!!!!

The only place you should download the wallet from is Electrum.org don't take it from anywhere else.

As for your problem, I had a similar issue, and for me, it was (or so I think) Windows 10 update. Read what people suggested: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5130553.0;topicseen
