Sounds like Electrum isn't finding the wallet file properly... Huh

On the window where it asks for a wallet name ans is displaying the "This file does not exist" message, click the "Choose" button and it should display the contents of the "wallets" folder and allow you to choose the file you want. Once you choose the correct wallet file, it should then prompt for the password.

Didn't you save your wallet seed after creating it? You can just create the same wallet file by restoring your seed.

Standard Wallet -> I already have a seed -> Write your seed-> Next.

If you didn't, you should do it immediately when you manage to recover/find your wallet file.

I am on a MAC, the wallet is and has been on my desktop, after it runs and says verified it says create new wallet, it does not ask me for my password
Go to ~/Library/Application Support/Zclassic and check whether the files are there especially the wallet.dat . Be sure to back up the wallet.dat file or the whole folder in other destination (in your pc or external hdd/flash drive) just in case.

Try this. Run electrum and create a new wallet, then close. Go to the path again containing the zclassic folder and replace the wallet.dat with your back up file. Check if it works.

My daughter tried to log into her ZCL Electrum wallet, it said it was last accessed on Feb 27th, this is when she transferred her ZCL into it for the fork. the next window that pops up says 'this file does not exist' Press 'Next' to create this wallet.  How would I go about helping her access her wallet so she can get her BTCP fork coins
Are you on Windows? Go to %appdata% (or C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\), find the folder "Electrum-zcl" -> "Wallets". See if there is anything there.
