This problem has been reported twice in recent days:

Some servers seem to be lagging like you said. In future if you ever face this sort of issue then try restarting electrum and, if that doesn't work, switch to another server.

Thanks Pooya,

I checked blockchain.info and all of the transactions were there, just strange that so many servers weren't up to date.

The servers that I went through are:

•46.166.165.18 is lagging (1969 blocks) and shows my balance from the 14/08
•ELEC.Pieh0.co.uk is green but shows my balance from the 14/08
•ELECTRUM.top-master.com is green but shows my balance from the 14/08
•Electrum.Online is green but shows my balance from the 14/08
•Electrum.hsmiths.com is green but shows my balance from the 14/08
•JElectrum.jdubya.info is green but shows my balance from the 14/08

I found that VPS.hsmiths.com is green and it shows my correct balance from the 28/08.

Thanks everyone for their help  Smiley

Is anyone using the Electrum wallet and experiencing loss of balance and their incoming/outgoing transactions?

your balance can not be lost, as long as your private keys/wallet file is safe.

I found that some of the servers were running behind and that some of my sending transactions were getting delayed for 24+ hours until they went through.

you can change the servers manually from the Tools > Network option to connect to any other servers.

i am curious to know which server you are connected to because i have never had this problem before?

Now all of my transactions after the 14/08/16 are missing. I know some sending transactions went through as the receiving party has received them.
Just wondering peoples thoughts on the matter.

this is strange to me.
sorry do not know why this is happening to you.
you should move this to Electrum board maybe someone can help you there about this! looks like a mod moved it while i was typing Cheesy

If it is in the blockchain, then my BTC should still exist, it would just be the servers being too far behind and trying to catch up I am assuming?

yes. you can use blockchain.info or any other online block explorer to check your balance by entering your public key (bitcoin addresses) and see your balance and transactions to put your mind at ease.

Can anyone recommend a better wallet?
Dave

don't give up on electrum just yet. try to find what your problem is and see if you can fix it. change your server and it should be ok

but since you asked another SPV wallet is Multibit you can try that too.

Firstly, you may want to move this post to the Electrum specific board under "Development & Technical Discussion -> Alternative Clients -> Electrum".

Secondly, which platform are you on? Windows, OSX, Linux, Android?

Thirdly, regardless of platform, are you running the latest version of Electrum? I vaguely remember reading that some issues like missing transactions were caused by not being on the latest version of Electrum and it not being able to get the proper info from the Electrum servers.

As far as other wallets go... well it really depends on what platform you're using and what exactly you are wanting to achieve.
