Newb question: How do I upgrade without opening electrum to export my private keys (on Mac)? Is there a way to upgrade without opening old Electrum while not losing my keys? Thanks
Just download latest version and use normally login information.if you have any problem move your ask into electrum will find many help you.

I don't know about upgrading in mac.But in windows,i just downloaded the electrum wallet of 3.0.5 version and it got updated automatically showing my bitcoin balance.Remember to download 3.0.5 version and not the other versions as they are termed not to be safe.Download only from the official website Electrum.org. Dear all, just few hours before theymos has given a warning about old version electrum wallets having chance of getting hacked.So,kindly shut down the old wallet and upgrade it soon to the latest version 3.0.4 from the official website Electrum.org.
