Thanks a lot!

Reinstall and copy wallet.dat file didn't work.

Create new wallet from existing seed worked, copy seed from previous file worked!
Glad I could help.

Just make sure you back up your keys and wallet at several places before attempting anything.

This will also work, but is more difficult to perform.

Try this:

Also try deleting the config file in that directory as well.

i dont want to tell you the wrong thing...i would wait for an expert here.

but i theoretically, i think yes you could reinstall and pull in your old wallet.

if you have a second machine, install electrum there and pull in your wallet.dat file.

it stores the seed as a hex number i believe.

Hello there,

All of a sudden, electrum.exe won't start anymore. When started it briefly shows up in Task manager and is gone after a second. I don't see logs or console output.

- I don't have the twelve word seed.
- I do have a wallet.dat and blockchain_headers in APP_DATA. wallet.dat looks valid.

What procedure should I follow? Reinstall electrum and then overwrite wallet.dat with my current one? Would that work?

Does wallet.dat contain my private keys without the need for the twelve word seed?

Thanks!
Tomas
