It can be pretty confusing and take a while to understand it, so I understand their problems. A lot of the time people explain it wrong or not fully so that also leads to further confusion.

Honestly, almost everyone here knows how the rule works except the newbies.

But the problem is explaining it. Most newbies misconceive that if you don't get 14 posts in a week you lose out.

Well, you can post once per fortnight and then make the remaining posts up at a later date and you'll still get all the activity points that you missed out on.

Between 240 and 240+14 days at a 1 post per day fortnight rate.
FTFY

At that rate it would take 240 fortnights to become senior.

No, the rule is "at least one post per fortnight gives 14 points of activity (for this fortnight)"

The rule is (emphasis mine):

Quote
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

So it isn't enough to post once in a fortnight to get 14 activity, you need to post 14 times, ie once per day in average.

Thanks for the explanations mate , so it takes 490 day to become Hero member ?

It only takes 480 days to become a Hero and 240 days to become a Senior Member.

After 480 days, you would have been through 34 fortnight periods, giving you 476 activity (assuming you posted every week)

You would need 4 more activity, which would come after 14 more days,in a block of 14. Assuming you had sufficient posts before that, you would hit 490 activity as you become a hero member.

It'll take you about 8 months. If you start an account now you'll be a Snr on the 28th of April (providing you make at least one post every fortnight).

Here's a table you can use to easily work out the Membergroups:

1 X 14 = 14
2 X 14 = 28
3 X 14 = 42 Jnr Member
4 X 14 = 56
5 X 14 = 70 Member
6 X 14 = 84
7 X 14 = 98
8 X 14 = 112
9 X 14 = 126 Full Member
10 X 14 = 140
11 X 14 = 154
12 X 14 = 168
13 X 14 = 182
14 X 14 = 196
15 X 14 = 210
16 X 14 = 224
17 X 14 = 238
18 X 14 = 252 Snr Member
19 X 14 = 266
20 X 14 = 280
21 X 14 = 294
22 X 14 = 308
23 X 14 = 322
24 X 14 = 336
25 X 14 = 350
26 X 14 = 364
27 X 14 = 378
28 X 14 = 392
29 X 14 = 406
30 X 14 = 420
31 X 14 = 434
32 X 14 = 448
33 X 14 = 462
34 X 14 = 476
35 X 14 = 490 Hero member

good exemple!!

if I open a new account right now how long will it take to become Senior ( 240 activity)

Between 240 and 240+14 days at a 1 post per day fortnight rate. You can post faster but that won't make you become senior sooner.

 Yes I read the
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every hour.

But I do not understand it.

I would like to basically ask you , if I open a new account right now how long will it take to become Senior ( 240 activity)
