I have this occasionally and think it is triggered because someone used your email address as their "backup email address". It shouldn't have any effect on your account but it is best to unlink it.

I already unlinked it as soon as I checked my email and saw what happened. Probably is as you say , someone used my email address as their recovery address but why me, that's why I don't understand, he/she whatever is won't get any help from me no matter what. Thank you all for your advice , am locking the thread right now. I checked my crypto-related stuff all is OK, so I guess I am fine. If some nasty shit happens I will ask again for help here.

you're most likely fine...

but a personal advice: get a protonmail.com e-mail for crypto related stuff.

Additionally i would like to advice get a Hardware Key [ Yubikey nano / Yubikey 4 ] for your main gmail . And remove all recovery settings from it and only keep Hardware key and phone no. , Android 2FA for recovery and access .

I keep almost all my valuable documents, passwords and everything bitcoin related in my Gmail account through encrypted with 65 characters password in RAR files.

I woke up this morning to see that someone had created a fake email with almost my identical name and has linked that account to mine. I received this message.

"Your Gmail address, [email protected], has been created"

I immediately unlinked this account. I have already 2FA through my mobile number and I also did check the latest places and devices from where my account was accessed. Everything looks good so far.

Should I worry or is just some idiot hacker trying to get access to my extra valuable Gmail account ?
