Thanks for your help. I'll just change it in my settings then.

You don't have to verify your email to use the forum and the password recovery using your email isn't working.
(or wasn't the last time I saw, can't confirm right now).

There is no need to verify the email. But it is useful for receiving some notifications.
You need it also for password recovery. There is ''forgot password'' option which I myself have used that.

I don't even think you really need to put a valid email.

You don't have to verify your email to use the forum and the password recovery using your email isn't working.
(or wasn't the last time I saw, can't confirm right now).

Do like Quickseller said and put any email you have access, later you can take the time to change this.

/lock the thread if you don't have any more doubts

You can register with a fake email address and subsequently change it.

I've just tried to register for the forum under a .network TLD and bitcointalk refused my e-mail.

Is there a standard set of TLDs that are allowed? Is this by design?

I would like to be able to register an account with a more official e-mail, we are looking at making an Alt-Coin announcement in the next week.

Will this be an issue because I've created a new account? I've tried to find the rules but it was not clear exactly how active the account must be.

Thanks,

Greg Agnew
