Regarding Encrypting the ledger nano s there isn't a need to. Unless someone has root level access to your PC which is required to sniff out the usb activity in order to hack into your information, it won't happen. What you could do is keep your PC secured and information regarding it private. The ledger is secure as is and what you could do to strengthen security is related to the information of your PC and how safe you keep it.

The ledger nano is a hardware wallet and it is one of the most secure places in the crypto world. It's encrypted to keep coins of different variety and it could keep almost 30 types of coin. You just have to buy one and contact the proper site to transect coin into your wallet. Its not difficult and you can find the whole process in nano related sites.

What do you mean by encrypting Ledger Nano S? You don't seem to provide enough information to answer your question!

At the first setup of the wallet you would have secured the wallet with a 4-digit PIN number. If you would like to change your PIN, login into the dashboard and navigate to the Settings - Security - Change PIN. By this way you can change the PIN number which you have already assigned to your wallet.

If you are referring to storing your 24 word passphrase safely, they are generally generated using the RNG algorithm based on the BIP39 standards. These RNG are used to generated the seed in Nano Ledger. Unless you keep the seed safe, you won't be losing your coins.
