Forgot all about this OG....Very nice and cool concept...reminds me of a magnet levitating on top of a superconductor.

   https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Levitation_of_a_magnet_on_top_of_a_superconductor_2.jpg

Defintley a conversation piece with what it is and how it stays afloat.

The next one you make you need to get a room temperature superconductor, then you will not need any power for the base.  Wink

Room temperature is always the tricky part. I’ve spent a good amount of time playing with and trying to understand the concepts behind quantum locking, although I’m not sure if I’ve grown any closer to an understanding. I’m very interested in all things magnet related. With forces like magnets and gravity, I feel like the mythical perpetual motion machine that could be harvested for energy should be a reality even if impossible to scale.

The cool things that could be created if it wasn’t for that pesky room temperature requirement…

Wow OG.. awesome.. wish i had been around when this came out. Love the disclaimer but you forgot- OG did not invent magnets nor discover gravity, lol

Levitating crypto wallets?!? I must have woken up in the year of 2047 or thereabouts.

Thanks.  I was going to tell a joke about time travel, but nobody laughed.

Seeing this thread again and I must admit, I laughed at my own joke.  At least I still find my own sense of humor hilarious.

I was reminded about this after someone commented on my levitating/floating/anti-gravity disc that I have in my kitchen.  Used to levitate the best spices in the house no doubt.  I sort of miss making cool 1-off things like this, but it's always a gamble on whether it can be done, if anybody would want it, and if it will hold true to the test of time.  I doubt I'll be messing with engraving magnets again, due to it (possibly) leading to the demise of one of my engravers, but it was worth it to know something this cool exists...

this bitcoin would technically be in the air, would different laws apply for this?

Works for me.

Is this the world's first levitating Bitcoin wallet?  Taking my Lava Lamp Miner inventor title to the next level.  Cool

Amazing...looks like a superconductor levitation...great idea OG!

Thank you.  I have been wanting to do one of these for a while now.  I destroyed my first attempt, but this one came out nicely.

Nicely done, Og Smiley

Thank you.  Working with hot metal and a magnet was a learning experience.  Engraving a powerful magnet with a metal tipped engraver was also more challenging than I was expecting.

The magnetic disc has been physically engraved with an offline generated vanity address containing the "AntiGrav" prefix and doubles as a pedestal that can stay afloat supporting up to a 13 ounce object.  A custom tamper-evident hologram was placed over the private key to secure it.  The outside edge of the hologram was also seared with a piece of hot metal to help it stand up to constant movement over time.  A rubber protective piece was then placed over the disc to help protect both the hologram and mirror below.  The base is a 4"x4" standard retail levitation base with 4 led lights placed in a reflective surface and powered with a standard US AC adapter.
