I think OP should go with your first Idee
and get help of a trusted escrow...you can do this escow even everyone can say that they can do. but everyone are not trusted. 14$ is not a large amount. though.
@OP sebastianJu can help you becaue he'll do escrow for small trades too.
If needed i can handled this escrow, im running a lend service and i wont scam anyone here, but always op choise, the most of the escrow wont act with deals below 50 dollars and their fee, i can provide the escrow, without a fee, just to help. But would be required both signed messages with all the details of the deal.
