Of course, TI and its aegis will always be the most prestigious in DOTA 2. Valve is yet to release this season's mechanics. Hopefully, it's still an exciting one in spite of the lower rewards. With the major events being out of the system, Riyadh Masters becomes the second most valuable event this season. And it will be very difficult to match its prize pool.

The fact about the Riyadh Master tournament is that there is no guarantee that they will host that event every year and even if they do there is still no guarantee that the prizepool will be atleast $15M which was the prizepool for the last tournament. TI on the other hand, will still be hosted every single year because thats one of the tournament that will allow Valve to milk their player base

So I took a risky bet for the Worlds Final, not expecting to hit it either way I just need T1 to win

Yeah. And if Klim Sani4 wins it will be another rematch against VP. But I cannot find a link, ESL keeps showing MENA's final match between PSG Quest and the Falcons.
Speaking of them, 1-1 now with Klim Sani4 against 9Pandas.
And they finally lost after another grueling series. So it'll be the mainstream teams once again in Eastern Europe. VP against 9 Pandas for the second slot.

I am hoping for that. As it seems to look that the most desired tournament now is going to be Riyadh Masters than the The International. It's possible that the growth in MENA is going to be quick.

There will be a huge growth for that region and some teams have started moving to that region. Team Falcons for example play on the MENA Qualifier for the ESL One currently despite only ATF that comes from that region. As for the tournaments though, if you compare it with football then its pretty much the same as local league and world cup

Players obviously earn more from their own respective league but to win a world cup is another accomplishment that all players want

I believe there are a lot of esports enthusiasts in the region and it will continue to grow. And this season the Riyadh Masters could be the biggest prize pool in DOTA 2 so it may get more exposure worldwide. Qatar's PSG Quest is so far dominating the region but Saudi responded by upgrading Team Falcons with proven international players.

They're all in for sports and definitely going to see the interest in Esports.

A lot of rematches going on. In the SEA, the final match is also a rematch between Geek and Blacklist. I have bets on OG and Geek. Still, a lot of games at the same time even if a lot of teams were already knocked out.
Blacklist wins the slot.

I agree, it’s also nice when Volvo lets me know about this when they punished the one who spoiled the game. This shows that we send reports for a reason. I should do this more than once a month.
Actually, in our accounts, we can also review the reported games and verify if the report is accurate. That's what I do every time I log in and review some few games and I hope that Volvo hires me for this.  Tongue

Boosting still exists, but not as much as before. In fact, I never understood why there was any interest in buying an account with a high mmr, and then spoiling others with my weak game. This is very stupid.
It's all about the experience and thinking that their level will be up to the real high ranks on that particular rank for the bought account. Honestly, it's just best to stay where you are and upgrade your rank through your playstyle natural. Because the fun is gone if you're not the one who achieved to rank up.

Yep, my bad, I didn't see bracket. IG battle now with Team Zero. I think IG will win. I also keep an eye on other regions. Teams everywhere have 1 slot,
IG takes the game 1.

while the MENA region has 2 slots.
Nope, only 1 slot.
This just happened, I reached 3k MMR for the first time, and in one of the games at this rating we were destroyed by the 20th minute. Yes, I play ranked very rarely, after one such game the desire disappears and I don’t want to go into Dota all day. So I am also for naturalness.

I got it wrong again. Yes, for MENA - 1, for Western Europe - 2, for Eastern Europe - 2

Yeah the graphics is kinda sucks because our standards is already high due to Dota2. But I’m still enjoying Dota 1 since I’m comfortable on the gameplay even though I’m only playing with AI extreme mode.

I hope that they will revamp to improve a little bit the graphics since there’s still developing it with same feature to the Dota2. I’m just not sure if this is still official release from Ice frog but items and skills is updating.
Thanks for your offer, but I won't change the region)

I didn’t even think that there were those who update Dota 1. This requires money and time.

Congratulations to Blacklist Rivalry Dota 2 team, they've won the grand finals against Geek Fam(Slate). They're the SEA team that's qualified for the ESL Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. The map reached to map 4 and I thought that the momentum was already built by Geek Fam when they've won so ez at map 1.

IG takes the game 1.
And speaking of the China region, it is going to be IG (Invictus Gaming) that's going to go to the ESL Kuala Lumpur as well. They're the team that managed to win the slot on their region.

I’m just not sure if this is still official release from Ice frog but items and skills is updating.
AFAIK, icefrog has been hired by Valve to focus with the development and changes/logs for Dota 2. But maybe he still gets to touch some ideas and contributions to Dota 1. Guys, you just made me miss the Dota 1 days. I've felt it with my friends and we're no longer playing the game. It's one of the longest games that I've played and it's on my heart honestly.

In fact, it’s hard to rise in the rankings, even an excellent player, for example, with 3k MMR, will not rise to 7k because of the toxicity you’re talking about. It is better to calibrate to a very high MMR and, having gained a foothold there, continue to increase it.

Yes, Aster lost. IG has a very good composition, with such a composition they can continue their victories. I won't be surprised by this, but I'll be keeping a close eye on their future games

What region you are playing because is the worst region of all if we are talking toxicity level. I quit playing Dota2 long time ago because of this toxic environment in my region. I’m busy already on my work that time and doesn’t catch on meta of the game that’s I’m just playing casual on a low rank game yet players even noob still talk shit like they are so good when you do some minor mistakes that already come to the point of cursing my family. This is when I started to quit playing this game anymore because we are playing to have fun yet most of the players like their life depends on it even low rank.

I really missed Dota 1 which has a simpler gameplay and less toxicity. Dota2 is too much to handle for user like that is not fully committed on gaming.
I playing in the CIS region, it is probably the most toxic of all. But I repeat that I play without the sound of teammates unfamiliar to me or with friends in discord where no one screams, so I’m happy with Dota 2.

You should try changing region to SEA sometimes.  Grin All the players here literally want to play carry and blame each other all throughout the game in form of typing and mic while still playing. Topson even acknowledged it on his social media that SEA is the worst when change region before.

Quote
I played Dota 1 before, and of course there was practically no toxicity there, but now I wouldn’t go into it because for low graphics and low capabilities of items, skills, heroes. Players even at low rank will scream, this is a common process for gamers, I'm not surprised.

Yeah, it was pretty much a one-sided beating. But at least a lesser team knocked down 9 Pandas all the way to the lower bracket. I see some potential in Klim Sani4, although they lost to VP they gave a good fight. I guess they'll be facing a 9 Pandas again or NAVI before facing VP for the region's second slot. The region needs more teams. But it's still interesting who gets the slot between the Falcons and Quest. It'll be a Saudi vs Qatar rivalry, both are super rich and seem willing to spend a lot of money to show dominance. I want to see the other ultra-rich countries of Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai funding their own teams as well.
I agree that we need more team from this region and there is no problem with organizations there because it's one of the rich regions in the world. But it's also about how known the esports in this region and only a few of them exists and one support from the Saudi's crown prince is what making this region good.

Team Secret has a worse team than last season IMO. I even thought Alliance could win their series. I am betting on Tickles to knock them out for good.
And another coincidence that OG and Team Secret are going to have a rematch in the lower bracket too.

I have everything muted, so I almost never send reports to Volvo, only in very rare cases when teammates are openly feeding and ruining the game. Probably in the last month I sent a report only once.
We've got limited reports and that's why I am also maximizing the use of it. And when definitely a teammate is very annoying and does ruin the entire game, they deserve to get reported and it's just so satisfying when Volvo responds that one action has been taken with my reports.

Dude, you just said it so. It's for real, even if you are the best player, I think you can't survive to a region that has a lot of toxic traits. Dota 2 is one of the most toxic games globally. What we usually see rise in the ranks are those with parties and all of them are good and likely boosting each other.

We are now on the finals for the ESL Kuala Lumpur SEA closed qualifiers. Match is about to start within the next few minutes. Money is on the line and these are the teams that are going to fight for that one very slot for SEA region.

--> Geek Fam versus Blacklist Rivalry.

Both teams are strong but it is no contest that Geek Fam has been consistent and surprising on this tournament. This is a best of 5 series so, cast your bets now folks.

This weekend there is Pari Please 2023 happening, a B tournament where 8 CSGO teams that we haven't seen regularly are playing against each other. I used to follow a lot the Brazilian CSGO teams in the past and it's nice to see them compete internationally again. Furia is playing today against Aurora and should be winning that match. The team is based around FalleN, one of my alltime favourite CSGO player. The two teams already played against each other in the tournament and Furia won 2-1. The will likely repeat their win and move on to the semi finals tomorrow. The second match today is MIBR vs BetBoom, where the Russian team has the upper hand. BetBoom is a decent team that played quite well for their experience during the IEM Sydney tournament. The favourite for the whole tournament in my opinion is Eternal Fire, they played really well during the last ESL season winning against teams like Liquid and Cloud9, also they didn't lose a single map yet during the tournament.

We have two qualified teams already from WEU and EEU just this day for the ESL Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

One for WEU is Team Liquid --> https://liquipedia.net/dota2/ESL_One/Kuala_Lumpur/2023/Western_Europe/Closed_Qualifier

One for EEU is BetBoom Team --> https://liquipedia.net/dota2/ESL_One/Kuala_Lumpur/2023/Eastern_Europe/Closed_Qualifier

More teams to get qualified later on so, we will check and see them on who are the teams that's going to follow these first two teams that have been added to the participating teams.

I get to experience that and whenever I encounter one, I don't prolong it and put that teammate into mute and I report them with communication misbehavior. Anyway, are you guys familiar with Grubby? I am not familiar with him until there are some articles that I've seen about this guy and he just became immortal rank recently. And looking at the SA open qualifier #2, they're about to end. I am not familiar with these two teams, Mad Kings and Invaders, they're now in the finals.
I have played 5000+ match of Dota 2 since 2014. If in every match I tried to explain incorrect behavior to everyone who behaves incorrectly, I would probably turn into a psychologist or something similar)) Nevertheless, some of my friends try to explain to others, but I won’t do that now. But you are probably making the environment better, thanks for that.
Yeah, it's even going to ruin your game if you explain it for every game and that's why there's the report button either for misbehavior or communication that we can easily press and send to Volvo for them to take action. I've been reporting as well with those teammates that don't play well because of how poor they communicate and toxic they are.

Of course I know Grubby! Ever since the days of WarCraft 3, where he was a legendary player 10-15 years ago. But in Dota 2, today he took 5,644 MMR in just over a year, which is impressive.
I didn't really know him but the roots was there and I'm happy that he's able to reach that rank while if you go in some specific regions, you will barely reach immortal if you play such roles especially pos 4 and 5 and you know why is it. Well, yeah, it's all about the toxicity that we're getting from random teammates.

Closed qualification for ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 has begun for China, which runs from November 16 to 18. Teams are fighting for one LAN quota. Tean Aster started with a victory
, I think in the end they will take this slot, but for this they need to win 2 more games.
Team Aster is no longer the former roster that they had during the qualifiers of TI and it's completely a different roster they have. What I think this slot will be taken by is by the Invictus Gaming.
I have everything muted, so I almost never send reports to Volvo, only in very rare cases when teammates are openly feeding and ruining the game. Probably in the last month I sent a report only once.

Too many games honestly and I don't know what to watch right now seems I'm tired with the early games that just happened in China and SEA region.
Yeah, hard to choose which games to watch. Right now I am watching Virtus.pro against TT somehow hoping for some upsets to see new teams in the mainstream.

Well, for the outcome of Virtus.Pro and Team Team, the game's decided and VP won the match.

BetBoom should clearly get the first slot.

And the additional MENA region also adds more games. But it'll be more interesting as the game expands. I still have no idea about Valve's new system of qualifying for the TI. Maybe a top finish in ESL can earn points.
Yeah, they added more games and also more teams to participate from that region but we've got only two choices from there. It's either Team Falcons or Quest.

Or what if an unknown team will be able to beat it because on the upper bracket, it's possible that one of them will go to the lower bracket and what if some surprise goes from there and they'll be beaten by any of these unknown teams.

The region needs more teams. But it's still interesting who gets the slot between the Falcons and Quest. Within an hour, this match is going to happen. We'll see both teams that have their roster change for the first time, I think that this is going to be a sweep for whoever is going to win.

Team Secret's line up isn't appealling at all for me and I don't think they're strong. Or, they're going to prove me that I am wrong.  Grin

Same here, I don't think the current Secret team is better. I have a bet on OG to win the first map. I'm betting on Liquid and OG all the way to getting the 2 slots for WE.
It's also decided, OG beat Team Secret twice. And as Team Secret goes to the lower bracket, they've kicked Alliance to this qualifier.

Team Secret has a worse team than last season IMO. I even thought Alliance could win their series. I am betting on Tickles to knock them out for good.
