Some established Cryptocurrency owners think Banning ICOs will help their survival.

This is wrong in some many ways.
It is like some company employee hoping that banning tertiary education would help them retain their job. If the employees spend some time updating their skills and knowledge, there would be no reason to fear tertiary education. 
Why not some of this Cryptos do some massive upgrades  like every 4 months or less so that new big investors find them irresistible & old investors never get bored of their products.
If you notice, big phone companies keep churning out new & massively improved phones to keep their consumer hooked and attract new ones. Social Media giant like Facebook does this too all the time. The company even bought Instagram, Whatapp, Oculus rift for billions of dollars to stay ahead of competitors. These upgrades are deliberate to avoid losing customers and money to new products.
Why not Cryptos start doing this as well to help keep the whole Cryptocurrency ecosystem  interesting.

Not just good to build a product and go to sleep. Instead employ more talents and professional to help continue building your Cryptocurrency or look for volunteers. Use the hugh funds given to you by investors to continue developing cool things and Stop celebrating the War on ICOs
