I think that myetherwallet is for different use cases. Ledger Nano S is for storing funds long term but is not very convinient when it comes to every day transactions and it's also a compromise of security to bring it outside every so often.
I read about Ledger Nano S today and wondered if MEW was less hackable than other online hot wallets? The case that’s always made is that cold storage is virtually impossible to hack versus an online wallet ...

I am thinking for a long time how save is to store all your ETH and ERC20 tokens on myetherwallet. I read a lot of articles and many people suggest to use Ledger Nano S instead of myetherwallet. But no one exactly tell why. Why is not good to store ERC20 tokens on myetherwallet. What if you lost your Ledger Nano S. It is almost necessary to have 2 Ledger Nano S in my opinion.

IMO it is better to use Ledger Nano S only for stocking erc20 tokens for long term holding of the tokens. If it were to be held for a little time, I suggest you OP to use only myetherwallet it is safe unless you will fall prey to phishing sites. Just remember to check if the site you entered is myetherwallet itself or not. Just to be in the safe site, bookmark the original site of MEW and use it always to access your eth wallet.
Thanks for the tip and for clearing this up. Right now I'm using myetherwallet because I'm still just in the process of choosing the right wallet for ERC20 tokens. But I'll switch to Ledger Nano S when start investing in more ERC20 tokens.

There are also desktop wallets you can use such as Parity or Mist.

That is good suggestion. I like idea of Ledger Nano S but then you need 2 or even 3 USB keys, because if you lost one you still have 1 or 2 more. For myetherwallet is easier. You print code and save it in few safe places.

Because ledger nano s protect your private keys in a safe environment inside the device but my ether wallet may not be secure if you use it online.
