It is a very big issue for Ethereum foundation and i don;t think they even understand how to cope with the problem now, in a year's time it will be difficult for individual to run the chain at the current rate is going. I just hope competitive products take note of this issue and address it in their projects

A significant issue is being raised in this thread, but, unfortunately, folks in Cryptoland don't bother with the important stuff these days...   Roll Eyes

Absolutely, unless the ETH devs get serious about solving this, this coin will die under its own weight.

No hacks or future attacks needed.

It's an awesome concept, just fix the issues.

the size of the blockchain and the troubles that people have with syncing has always been a big concern and nobody seems to care as long as they are getting the profitz.
ETHEREUM BLOCKCHAIN SIZE IS NOW 180GB SO 40% BIGGER THAN BITCOIN BLOCKCHAIN !

Haha agreed.  It takes days to re sync.  It's all these ETH ICO and ETH selloffs that are creating these nodes.  Hopefully casper solves this problem.

Unfortunately I need a full node.

May I ask what you need this for? do you have something interesting in mind?

How many ETH did you buy at the original ICO? Much like BTC, are you an ETH whale, too?

As far as ETH, I have never mined, bought or possessed any amount of Ethereum in any form.

I need a full node for analysis and nothing more.

Kind of hard to do if you can't sync.

Here you go. http://cryptochainer.com/dir/?page_id=881

Ive used the site before and its proven to be quite reliable for older/big blockchains.
Also if you add --fast to your geth .bat file, it speeds up the sync alot.

Is their a bootstrap DL anywhere?

~BCX~

I read a post these days where someone claimed you could and would make the ETH network go down (easily)

LOL

Nice. Excuse me that this is slightly off. I wish I could directly answer your topic BCX.

The ETH chain is bloated af... As a regular user I don't dare to run a full node

Forget the fact there are multiple forks and massive coin losses galore...

What's going to kill the ETH network is lack of nodes due to the ridiculously bloated and slow syncing blocking chain.

I've had a i7 6400K with 64GB of ram running on fiber trying to sync Geth for four plus days.

It's only thing this machine is doing.
