If "INCASE" bitcoin would fall then I will agree that ethereum's price would be higher than bitcoin but if you think that ethereum could overtake bitcoin then it was just an illusion.

Ethereum does have an opportunity to surpass bitcoin, but not for now. Bitcoin is the current king, and certainly very powerful and has an influence on altcoin prices. The price of bitcoin falls now and altcoin also falls, so it's very difficult for altcoin to go beyond bitcoin.

All I know is that I know nothing.

ETH is falling hard. it is currently $416 and the ETH/BTC pair is also not performing well at 0.0703BTC, this is officially a mass panic sell where even the bag holders are starting to dump their ETH.

this is a good news though because that means ETH is having its bubble burst and it is going down to its real price. we all want profit but before we can make profit price has to go do the bottom. which i think for ETH is about $50 with the current supply.

Bitcoin is affecting the entire trading market, when bitcoin falls into the abyss, Ethereum and all altcoin will also go with it. If ETH can go against the trend, an opportunity will open up.

Bitcoin is bitcoin the king crypto. Currently it is having some hard time but this will be over soon. Don't underestimate bitcoin as it will be overtaken by Ethereum. Bitcoin is the benchmark for other coins if Bitcoin goes down then the others are down too, so I think it's very difficult for Ethereum to defeat it.

Same thoughts from majority of investors. Even with the downtrend of bitcoin it still have a better position in investors perspective and that is because the numbers of supporters and its popularity. Easy to say that in times like this we see only one coin is falling, but it isn’t the case in all. Bitcoin and altcoin are relatively the same on public perception, if bitcoin fall then all follows.

But many well-known analysts say that in the future ETH can completely replace Bitcoin. I think they are right because Bitcoin's transaction processing speed is slow and not as fast as ETH

well if btc starts a new bull run from here there are high chances that eth can hit its previous lows in terms of btc that was around 0.027-0.03 btc mark, if that happens i think that will be the perfect buy entry for eth if you are holding btc.

Don't focus with these comparisons but ask yourself if you do have any of them because if you don't have, you're doing it wrong.

I just invested in chozun 途赞 since it's ETH-based, aside from that, team is also great and has an excellent roadmap. I have high hopes in ETh now. It's low and reliable. There's a chance for a raise in value on the future.

Eth is really a good coin and it is trying hard to be in the market. It has now good market cap and providing good return to the investors. But I do not agree with the fact that it is giving more return than bitcoin. If we compare from a long term perspective then we will find that bitcoin is the best.

I have not seen etheruem taking over bitcoin yet so how is etheruem a winner?
In fact, etheruem is falling since bitcoin has been shedding off too. Etheruem can only be a winner if it is rising while bitcoin is falling.

I wouldn't consider the current dumps as bitcoin falling into the abyss because there are far more lower prices than it in the past. In fact, the price range ATM can still be considered a good enough price if one had witnessed market being below sub 1000$.

Comparing bitcoin and ethereum merely by gains alone is not good IMO because it is irrelevant to the whole market capitalization as a whole. What matters is it's use cases in real life and how many services accept it as payment.

In the current market conditions for cryptocurrencies I don't think there is any chance for ethereum or any other altcoin for that matter, to go "against bitcoin". With this I mean, that if for whatever reason Bitcoin "falls in the abyss", the other coins will simply follow it's lead. Maybe in a distant future, when regulation is clear and the blockchain is more mature, other coins could have a "life of it's own", but right now, Bitcoin is still calling the shots.

I don't agree bitcoin is "falling in the abyss" though. It's fundamentals remain intact, so this is just speculation as usual, so no reason to fear.

I suggest you to wait about the next update of ethereum protocol. Casper and sharding will change everything and we will see a lot of increase on the ethereum price. But this time bitcoin still everything and i can't even see any chance to the ethereum could win against bitcoin. Casper is the key for ethereum.
