Hey you forgot to mention the bull trap soon  Cheesy

Yes, before the merger is the last bulltrap.
Are you serious? Cos I have been waiting for this way too long now, I've store lots of USDT to buy some coins for grounded prices and wait for next halving season.

Are you guys aware that the PoS merge has been postponed? This is good news, those that invested in graphic cards in January of the year can make most of their money back by December, I believe that merge isn't coming this year,  Grin enjoy the last stage of ETH mining felllas.

and where did you find this info?

One of the ETH devs confirmed this on twitter. And there are media reports also floating around.

Basically they ran into some issues and got no choice but to postpone it. What other ETHs dev have said is that ETH has gotten so complex that they are not surprised they are running into issues left and right.

I actually believed Q2 would be the actual merge because their tone was completely confident last month however in the past week it has changed entirely. No idea if it will go finally live in Q3 or not.

A rumour has been spreading online that Vitalik crashed Ethereum again, it seems like whales are disappointed once again because they have been gearing up to start staking ETH for real, what do you think will happen now? I thought ETH was supposed to respond to the BTC movement right?.

Exactly, I have always feel the same, Ethereum dev don't know what they are about to lose here, ETH is the only old smart contract project that supports the PoW algorithm and that's one of the reasons thousands of mining farms are been created, it's one of the reason why Nvidia and AMD are in profits too, even Asic companies like Bitmain and Innosilicon, ETH won't know what hit it when PoW is gone, the value will drop fast.

As I said, it's just my opinion, and this is my feeling, but when everyone expects price of ETH will skyrockets soon after POS, maybe will happen the opposite
I think price will keep increasing for next years, but for a short term, price can go down

There's ETH locked waiting to be released, and this could lead to a massive sell together with end of mining and miners leaving the coin / network.

I'm not saying this is guaranteed, nor it's a financial investment

ETH devs need to do this transition 100% smooth

Damn you ETH devs how many times are we going to go through this again? Kidding, this is actually good news for crypto miners like myself, it seems like the merge is never going to happen in 2022, I got a solution though if the team are ready to listen, they should be curious how ETH will perform after the merge, why can't they just fork a new ETH on PoS instead like what happened between ETH and ETC.

I already have said several times that we are waiting for this to happen since 2016 and yet we are in 2022 and nothing has happened.
Yeb it was already on the plan a few times now in the last years and i wouldnt be surprised if they change it again and write that it takes another year.
I even wouldnt be surprised with ETH if they say we make another rollback for some the reason as they they have done it already 2 times at the beginning.
All is possible in the cryptospace , for sure its a good thing for all the miners that mining ETH at the moment and they can do it longer now  Grin

I bet that as soon as Q3 enters you will see another statement from the developers saying that it will be highly probable that the merge will be made in the end of 2022,in December. That leads us to think that if it really happens in December there is plenty of time to keep mining Ethereum as the most profitable algorithm which will make us stronger with more crypto available to plan our next move when such time comes.

I first saw user sp_ posting: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.59531671

After that I started to see some comments here, reddit, twitter and then I saw Tim Beiko saying the merge is postponed to Q3, or after June, maybe a few months,
So for now I think we are safe to say the merge won't occur until at least september, so 4 or 5 months guaranteed  Cool

But again, there's chance to happen only in 2023, this is good for all us miners

I'm surprised with the fact of none of these delays reflects on price, I didn't see any research, but I suspect most of ETH investors prefer POW and after POS we can see a dump on price with miners running to another coins, not only with hashrate, but with investors too.
This is not a fact, only my opinion

It won't be June, but likely in the few months after. No firm date yet, but we're definitely in the final chapter of PoW on Ethereum

I would _strongly_ suggest not investing more in mining equipment at this point.

In my opinion it was a stroke of luck despite all the tests being successful but the developers are not yet sure about the security and to prevent any attacks they have taken more time for development, optimistically i believe that the transition to pos will not take place before 2023

Do you think that 1-2 months will change something? This will give the miners some extra income.

The Ethereum merger from PoW (Proof of Work) to PoS (Proof of Stake) has been delayed until the second half of this year, possibly as early as the third quarter.
On April 13, Ethereum Foundation developer Tim Beiko said in response to a follower’s inquiry that the merged part of the 2.0 upgrade will not be completed in the expected June, “but it may be in the future. In a few months, no exact date yet, but we are definitely in the last chapter of Ethereum PoW.”

Maybe you got good deals for your graphic cards but not me,I bought my cards over MSRP and I think I will be able to make my ROI back in 2023, that's if ETH mining is still alive and still profitable which I doubt but since I'm in for the long term I have nothing to worry about.

You don´t get your money back in 1 year. Nearly every GPU need more than 1 year for the amortization.
Nothing new, was predicted by many people.
