I always support ethereum because ethereum brings many benefits to many new projects that are accommodated by the ethereum network itself. But what our problem lies in the transaction gas fee. the big hope is that we can see low etherem gas like in 2017.

They are trying to do their best to address that issue, though there’s no assurance that the upcoming update can totally solve this. Many are very optimistic for this merge, let’s not just confused about those meme and stay focus for their real plans. Just be prepared, try to accumulate and get more ETH, I decided not to sell yet and will just wait for the outcome.

My view on the news For those who want to wait for the numbers to come in, there might not be any harm in doing so. On the other hand, for those looking for profit, ETH is likely still one of the best options on the market. The line may still be moving, but regardless of what happens in 24 hours, ETH is well positioned for what could turn out to be a very big month.

I hope this Merge does not make the market chaotic, many people are confused by the Merge Ethereum plan, and for me the most important thing is that all assets and tokens on ERC20 are safe and of course make the future project that uses the ERC20 network continues to grow at the cost of swaps or cheaper transactions
If things go smoothly then there is not much of a reason for the market to become chaotic after we see the merge happening, but if things do not go according to plan or the ethereum developers have to delay the implementation of the merge then things could get really bad.

As we know the speculators do not really care if the market goes up or goes down, they only care about the volatility itself and regardless of whether the merge is successful or not they will create the market conditions they need in order to make money, personally I hope the merge is successful because I do not want to see the ethereum developers dragging the market down because of their incompetence.

I don't expect too much from the upcoming merge of Ethereum and it isn't even on trend nowadays. Some investors still aren't aware of it but as for me, I don't think it will have a huge impact on its price. While others are panic selling, I guess it will be wiser to buy and hold and just wait for the bull season to approach before selling it.
The price of ethereum is experimenting a slight increase in its price which is above what we are seeing in the price of bitcoin, however the rise in the price is very slight and quite honestly it is within the margin of error, so it is very likely that not much is going to happen despite the huge news that the merge is, however we cannot really blame investors by what's happening as simply the economy is not in a good position and the market itself is in the wrong part of its four year cycle.

ETHEREUM merge is a hot topic in these days actually. there are lot of expectations by different kind of investors and traders. some people say  ETHEREUM  will hit $5000 and others say  ETHEREUM will dump . decision is yours. only one thing i know is , most of people think this  merge will reduce the transaction fee of ETHEREUM  because it is merging to POS .but  ETHEREUM foundation stated that this merge wont reduce the transaction fees on  ETHEREUM . so i don't expect much price movment because of this merge here at this point.

An action cannot please every body, like the ETH merge, many are hyped about this merge while others are having a doubt.  So it is not surprising that there are people who are a bit hesitant to par take in this merge event.  And I think most of them are POW miners.
Because of unclear plan for this merge, many are hesitant to make a move for now and they are just waiting for the day of merge because that is the only time we can know the result and effect of this update. I still have no plans for this, don’t even know yet if this merge will be good for ETH itself, but then again I’m very positive since ETH can’t afford to make any mistake and with this, I know they studied this very well.

I think it's not that the plan merger is unclear, they already have the date. It's that suddenly there is a group of miners who suddenly will go for the split, hence ETHW although they already have the the Ethereum Classic.

So the expectations for this hard fork and the free airdrop  is not going to be easy for us ETH holders and that's where a lot of questions arises including how and when they are going to get it, what will be the prie of ETHW or whaever they call the split chain coins.

This is a conflict of interest, but in any case it will be a loud and important event for the chain and it is important that the market does not turn around and go down much.I have not yet determined the position for myself, but I have plans to buy some ETH.
Some people said there will be a chain split, if that is true we can use this opportunity to make a move. but hey, everything is possible because we are in cryptosphere now.
technology wise, this merge is what we were supposed or promised to see a few years ago but it will happen soon.
from that perspective we could tell, it took them long enough to consider the pros and cons thus I believe it will big. Either it is going to hype or die trying.

If you are an ETH holder, then you will get a great opportunity to get an ETHW coin for free, after the hard fork that should occur after the merger. Many will specifically buy ETH for this, as a result of which the price will increase. But we must remember that after the hard fork occurs, such traders will dump the purchased ETH and ETHW with it.

And that is the hard part, if you are new in this kind of game and decided to buy ETH because of the merger and the pump but you didn't sell before it gets dump then you will not get your profits in short term. So you really need to be very quick or at least be on the look out on when the incoming dump is going to happen. Same with the newly drop ETHW coins, I"m expecting that this will also get dump hardest once everyone get their airdrops. So for me, I will not expect to much unless you really are into ETH investment.

The difference is that I wrote about ETH holders, and you are about those who buy ETH specifically to get the ETHW coin for free. Although this does not mean that you will get a loss due to a possible ETH dump, everything will depend on the price of ETHW at which you manage to sell it. It is possible that the profit from the sale of ETHW will compensate for the loss from a possible dump of ETH.

I'll stay away from ETH for a while during this time. Lot of expectations for ETH to be pump but I don't think so. The market's going sideways for quite a time and this opportunity comes just in time. No doubt many people invest in and will not understand truly how much ETH has been locked and staked, and the risk behind it.

Very hard to predict ETH's price both before and past The Merge for now. But judging based on the long term, ETH has a lot of rollout and planning for post Merge which the price for it eventually bound back anyway.
It is very difficult to predict what the market is going to do at the moment, I can understand those that believe that ethereum could produce significant profits but this will require that ethereum is able to overcome the current market conditions which are very negative, and I'm not so sure that this can be done, there have been instances in the past in which ethereum was the coin which was leading the movements of the market and not bitcoin, but those moments are very rare and they only last for a very short amount of time.

If you are an ETH holder then you better stick to ETH merge because with this news, you can be sure that the hype happening on eth in the middle of this month and some updates to be given is also still positive so the risk is still relatively low to stay on Ethereum .

This eth merging just got me thinking alot because I don't even know what to do to consider being on the safer side, because the current eth price is below what I got mine. I don't sell out of playing safe, anything can happen in after the merge. All I can do is hold what I have but can't take or advice anyone to take the risk of buying more or in the name of taking advantage of the market.

If you don't know what is going to happen then it's better just to stay put and not do anything that will jeopardized your holding. Specially if you got it below the price, so don't sell is the best thing to do.

We are in one of the very worst months of crypto, do you know how many bad news are coming this month? The only reason to have some ETH in your wallet is those upcoming forks, I won't buy just because of the merge because crypto market is extremely bearish as we speak.

Right, we are in the bear market, but the thing is, it is still based on news and hype so this might be good enough for ETH holders to come out again and buy some and hold or just take the airdrop free coins due to the hard fork.

As long as you have the experience claiming those and then selling it right away, you will be good.

Many memes has been created on this picture. Some one created bullish while some one created meme to that this is showing bear sign. Ethereum merge is getting very close but we have not seen bug change in price yet. 6 September is date to be noted. We may see high volatility in this day. Many users will sell POW token and will convert it to POS.
There’s a lot of possible scenario that can happen before and after the merge, I will personally wait for the result of this update and buy if I can still see opportunity. It’s too risky to buy early but it’s all on you. If you see the market, there’s a lot of different predictions and speculation, if you do follow it without having your analysis, your money will be on a risky position, many will surely buy ETH after this merge.
This is the safest thing to do, to wait before you make action since there’s also a rumors about fork and it’s possible to happen as well. Have you seen the prediction of Binance for this update? They are not sure about this as well and just waiting for the merge. POS will surely a big thing in the coming days, many will convert and many will adopt. You can buy some now and buy more later on, the market is still cheap though.

I don't care.  Grin  I have long abandoned ETH due to the reason of ETH problems with scalability and high gas fee.  This merge will not solve it either so there is no reason for me to get excited about the upcoming event.  So I am just watching on the sideline waiting for the sharding to happen (possibly 2023 the earliest).

Honestly the meme itself is funny and the world is going towards a weird place where if you have a meme that means something good for you, which makes no sense to me at all. At the end of the day, fundamentals matter more than the chatter, but since we do not have SEC or similar organization looking over who bought how much and try to stop, the market is decentralized and you can trade anyway you want and nobody can stop you, which means that memes and hype and pump/dump etc all became the reality.

What we are seeing in the crypto markets right now is the same as what stock market would be like if there were absolutely no regulations and that is a bit scary, still more fairer than anything else so it is better, but scary at the same time.

I believe the Ethereum community is already aware of the situation, regarding the upcoming Ethereum merge so I can say that many are already applying their own strategy and closely monitoring the market trend before they are bought more Ethers to add to their existing holdings. even the non-Ethereum holders are riding with the hype so let's wait til that day arrives.

This is the viral meme regarding Vitalik right now. I don't know if it's appropriate to post it here (if not I will delete it in a few hours), but I just shared it.

I just had a good laugh on the Vitalik meme, Lol.

I don't have that much ETH to be honest, so I will be on the fence on this one. Of course I know that there will be a big event, but I'm not going to get involved myself. If I can get airdrop because of the fork then so be it, if not then I'm cool.

So yeah, probably I would say that I don't care about the upcoming event, nor will be interested to see if others will make money riding on the hype or not.

I am on the neutral side.

Won't go all in but I've got my fund ready and have ETH already. For the short term folks, it's really a rushing decision for you guys to have it bought too many.

But, if you think that you can advantage of the upcoming merge and you just want to get in shortly and come out of it afterwards. You need to have a perfect timing for it or even not perfect but at least at the right time.

It's really hard to say, but I will be out of the picture. But let's say we put this scenario:

Scenario 1: You are very active with ETH (not me), and you are willing to take that big risk to jump on the bandwagon because you know it is going to pump when the Merger this month. So you just wait for the right time and then boom short term you make some quick money.

Scenario 2: Like me, you are not that active, just laid down but looking at the outside, just invested enough. But regardless there will be a pump or not, you are in for the long haul.

Scenario 3: Different story though for those who are willing to stake 32 ETH to be a validator because you can't withdraw it.

Speculative activities will never stop so its no wonder that a lot of people are going all in to get the benefit out of a possible price pump and also from poasible forked coin.

But this merge is a highly awaited change people are waiting for a long time now. It will give a lot of people a chance to stake their coins and earn an API.

I am definitely not buying more as I am accumulating bitcoin while it is available at a discounted price. But ETH will also not be a bad buy to be honest and we may actually see a price rally after the merge.

I have been bought ethereum since the price was around 900. i don't care anymore about hype from merge or even play safe and not join with the pump that can happen in the middle of this month. For me pump and dump were just a common thing for sure.

If you didn't wanna take the risk and don't expect to get profit from the market. People who bought and hold their ethereum was also know that if this coin was also promising for long term.

The new consensus may give a long term change for ethereum.

Of course a pump and dump would be arriving with thus kind of picture and I saw a lot of twitter post of 4k or 3k gains with the tokens being created in line with the picture of Vitalik. Shame on these developers playing tokens on the name of the great Vitalik. We can always saw such action in the degen space and nothing could definitely say how bad the crypto influence to such developers when it comes to pnd schemes. Even a photo could be a subject of such project alone which is quite ridiculous.

Whatever the reason is, don't ever, ever, ever go all in in one coin unless it is for a short time only.

Many are hoping that there will be a short pump because of the ETH merge. Well, it might pump but there is a chance that it will remain stagnant or worse it might go even lower. It will depend on the sentiment of the people and how they will react to the update. We've seen numerous updates regarding Ethereum in the past, but those updates didn't make the price of Ethereum go up.

As for me, I will keep accumulating Ethereum not because of the hype and the merge because I believe in the coin itself. I'm buying it for long term purpose and not for short term only so between those 2 options that you shared, I'm neither one of them.

If you are okay to take such risk with all in then why not but a wise man will never go for all in for something which may possibly happen.

You can invest more than now and set the stop loss to certain appetite level or decide how far the price will go and set your order, if it becomes possible then you make money or exit with minimum loss instead of all in.

It wouldn't hurt to have some ETH if you think it's going to pump. I would probably wait for the pump before getting in.

Anyone probably would take sides with ETH's surge if they can buy a lumpsum of ETH to become a validator and that means those who hyped the ETH are likely among or looking to be part of the validators.

Bad idea, once again we don't know where the market will go and whether the hype "the merge" isn't something that really wants to trick your hopes in a bear market. On the other hand, PoS is not liked by some because it is a bit "centralized".
If I follow this hype, I will try to be as neutral as possible especially since I only see the price of ethereum following the current market trend. General wise advice, "invest as much as you can afford to lose".
