Topic: ETH-Mining: is 4xGPU in one PC the same as 4 PCs with one GPU? (Read 178 times)

do you have a link to that case?
There are different decisions. It depends on your country. I saw such cases in Russia. Try to google Donnager - this is another choice.

PS. If you have 4GB GPUs - they works hard if they are connected straight to motherboard, if you will use risers - hashrate will be about 2 times less.

found out that the 4 are really not suitable anyways. so I will have two machines now. they where both proper cad-workstations with beefy hardware and proper power supplies, and I got them for free. so for now this will be my setup.

Hello mates,

I have a couple of RX580 and would like to know if it is the same if I equip 4 computers with one GPU each, or is it better to create one "beast-machine" with 4 GPUs? The latter would cause significant extra-cost, but if the hash-rates are significantly better, that might be an option. I´d go for pool mining, and I do not mind the overhead I am having with 4 computers vs one big in terms of power and space.

Thanks for your help

1 machine is better that running 4 seperate. 4 machine will consume more power 100-150w each pc. Second you will have better chance find shares with 120mhs instead 30mhs alone.

You are already the second user who cannot use open rig.
Use special cases for mining farms

Each old computer will additionally consume 70-100 watts, so 4 computers will additionally consume 350-400 watts of electricity.
Your farm does not need a 1000 watt power supply, an 800 watt power supply is sufficient

na, i would neet to buy everything, not just the psu if i need to create one new rig. but you got me, i have free electricity atm, so reusing my existing hardware would save me some serious bucks and time and hassle.... Smiley

thanks for the feedback. I was thinking strongly about going for one computer, but that needs to be fully purchased (cant use an open rig, must be a unobtrusive computer). But I have older computers on hand with i5, 8GB and 240GB SSD, Win10. I thought it should be fine also when I install one card per computer and save the hassle of buying a 1000W PSU, Big Tower for 8 height units, and a board that can house everything.
i mean thats wierd if you think using one gpu each pc for mining for saving buying 1k psu  Grin, if youre instaling each gpu at pc office with free electric thats the case....

closed case mean, youre using non riser motherboard which is quite expensive in some country

🇺🇦 Glory to Ukraine!
I would go for one rig just for those reasons. It is easier to monitor and maintain one well-assembled computer than four separate ones. And one big rig will produce more hash rate with less power, which reduces the cost of services. And, a 1000W PSU is cheaper than two (or more) 500W.

'The right to privacy matters'
NOT MUCH DIFFERENCE

In hash rates.

But overhead in power - extra GPU, Memory and so on. So go for one PC.

Some times you would be right other times wrong.

Myself If i had 4 good cards right now I think I would want 2 machines that could expand to 5 or 6 cards.

I wouldn't want 1 machine or 4 machines

but 2 is better than one in a choice point of 1 or 2.

Reason is if 1 dies you can trouble shoot really fast.

1 machine if it dies means very hard trouble shooting.

I have 3 card
