Hello guys,

I have got a mainboard with 2 PCIe slot.
In the first (x16) slot I installed a RTX 3090.

I would like to add a second card to the other (x4) slot.

Due to the availability of 30XX cards I would like to use something like a 2080 TI as second card.

Question:
Does this affect the haspower of the first card? I mean I would maybe need two different drivers - if that's possible?

In my current situation, I am mining with an Rx5600 xt(amd) together with gtx1070 (Nvidia) and it works fine. I thought at first it wasn't compatible because they are totally different, and add to that it's a red and green cards, basically these two are competitors and yet they are working in my pc together. You would not have any problems with two green cards working on. Btw I am using nanopool, and windows 10 OS. Also I am running the msi afterburner.

nothing go wrong with same typical gpus, and each gpus hashing on their job, msi afterburner each setting different bit hassle then, use stable driver optimized each algo...

Not it won't affect mining hashrate just make sure you get riser for that second slot and use good power supply with 8pins plugs available

You won't have any driver or hardware compatibility issues.
But you can't avoid other overheating problems, because the RTX 3090 and 2080 TI are the hottest cards Smiley
The 3060 should be inserted into the (x8) slot so that there are no problems with decreasing the hash rate, and in your case it is better to install at least one video card through the raiser to achieve better cooling.
Even if you install both video cards in (x1) slots, it will not affect their mining hashrate.

Not a problem mixing different generation cards on the same rig. With those two the same GeForce Nvidia driver would install for both GPU's and the mining software should detect each card. You can also mix AMD and Nvidia GPU"S on the same rig if you install both drivers.
