I try my best not to use ETHERDELTA too much and when I do I make sure the wallet I use does not have many spare tokens in it. Although ED is very good for picking up early coins on the very very cheap, it is not safe to use your wallets that have tons of tokens in them in case there is a hack. Just go in with the one or two tokens you want to buy or sell, then remove immediately and then use another wallet for trading on it.

I have a friend who lost more than $40k because of that, he was a dumb just for using  etherdelta while he was using his MEW on his laptop, i told him that, and he lost that amount of money... Anyway, a lot of people have lost in there, and i am a lucky one who didn't opened ED during the hack.

we experience now a bad time with etherdelta due to dns server hacking. What is your thought about this incident? Would you think it is an inside job or a bullshit hacker?
The Etherdelta has been attacked by some hackers or scammers , so be careful when signing in your private key to any pishing sites.

I cannot tell if this is only a drama or a pure hacked attempt.  If this is a drama then they are giving discredit to cloudflare service who handles their dns against malicious attempts.

This is a very bad situation, i am so sorry for those who had all their tokens in there. But why did you all stored your erc20 tokens in there?
There were a lot of other alternatives, such as storing them on MyEtherwallet (which is x10 times more safe)

As being said this is a dns hacking which those accounts that have been imported with remaining balance on their etherdelta account will surely compromise your myetherwallet at the same time too because it is collaborated with the site since you do input those informations with address together with the keys. I don't know to whom I do trust and on where I would completely store up my coins away from those hackers.I do feel sad for those people who lose up huge amounts of coins.

There are lots of people got compromised and lost lots of token. Check hackers address. https://etherscan.io/address/0x3F8a37BDe9B15b65C82F9Cdd00192e0BA36CC5fC#tokentxns Ive seen this wallet do have almost 200k usd and now all coins are going out which seems hacker decided to cash em out already. Yes their DNS server was hacked, hacker might have gained access to etherdelta domain provider and changed its DNS and pointed it towards phishing site. The one who tried to access etherdelta during that time might loss all of their token as they are being redirected to fake etherdelta site.

The one who is responsible for keeping their domain account might have forget to enable strong security measures.

And there is official information on this incident? How much money was stolen?
There is official announcement from etherdelta twitter page that their site was attack by the hacker. So a malicious attack and no update yet if how much was stolen. Hope they will bring back the service good.

I don't really think its some insider's job. ED is much of a decentralized exchange and if they want they can charge fees for listing tokens and earn atleast a good sum of money. Moreover most of their holding is using private key wallets so I think its job of any hacker. But its quite astonishing that decentralized exchanges are facing such things too.
