This looks amazing.  What are the options going forward to be able to add FPGA boards one at a time?  For example I am a small miner.  So a chassis like this would be awesome to be able to add cards as I go.  However I see in this first batch of FPGA boards are all gone.  What is the feeling or suggestions for the small guys?  Can you mix and match GPU's and FPGA boards?  Any idea if we are going to see more FPGA boards?

Awesome project. Thanks for the feedback and suggestions.  Thanks.

We are still working on the integration of the FGPA's into the OS, so its unknown whether 'mixing and matching' GPU's and FPGA's will be possible, hopefully it will be but I can't promise that yet.

As for more Xilinx BCU1525 FPGA boards, that is really with Xilinx and the group buy organisers (GPUHoarder and senseless), so I can't answer that. The Xilinx VCU1525 FPGA's will continue to be available via regular distribution channels such as Avnet as they were previously of course.

We plan to offer a system fully loaded with 64 x Acorn M.2 form factor FPGA's from Squirrels Research Labs (SQRL) in future (at least 3 months from now).

offer that  with  4 premade options for the acorn 2

16x
32x
48x
64x

make it  that  acorns ordered and be added 4 at a time on a card

it will sell better this way.

If you send me this  with 2x   4 pack  cards of acorn 2 I can demo it with 1 card of 4 and then add  a second card  of 4   do it all on youtube and do a thread here.

Many of us  would prefer to ramp up acorn 2's or fpga 1525's

I am thinking  that acorn 2 and fpga will  mix and match.  Even if it does not blend with gpus and fpga's  it may blend with   acorns and gpus  .

Selling this a a mostly empty chassis  with add-on   will appeal to the 1x 30 amp 240 volt circuit garage miner.

kjs supplied an early model 16 nvidia card unit to me in march of 2018  as well all know the 106 is not super kind on power use but it was very stable gear.

I have some decent you tube videos on the older model

 DO NOT POST SESC LINKS

For those interested, we are now selling our BLACKBOX systems complete with 16 x Xilinx BCU1525 Blockchain Edition FPGA's (inc mods & RAM).

There are a limited number of systems available at https://blackbox.cat/products/blackbox-x16-bcu1525-fpga-system-with-16x-xilinx-bcu1525-fgpas-august-batch

kjs sent me his 16 card mobo for nvidia 106 cards a few months ago .  it was a very nice piece of gear. as we all know gpus are hurting so the upgrade to

fpga's makes perfect sense

kjs sent me his test unit and I did some you tube videos and the gear was pretty much perfect gear.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gAysiHOWBE

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68EGwGnhk1g

if he has 16 fpga in this mobo it will be a monster piece of gear.

To anyone with big pockets
if you have the coin the 16 fpga model  should really do well

good luck with this item.

@ kjs if you need help with this let me know.

I am proud to announce the release of the Ethereal Capital BLACKBOX 16-Slot High Performance Computing Systems. The systems have been designed and developed over the past 12 months and are ideally suited for Crypto Mining, Password Recovery, AI, HPC and 3D rendering.

These systems are designed and manufactured in the USA for complete quality assurance and the highest levels of quality.

We are offering 'bare bones' systems where you can add your own full height, full length PCIe cards (eg your own GPU's, or FGPA's) as well as systems fully equipped with 16 x NVIDIA P102-100 GPU's and 16 x Xilinx BCU1525 Blockchain Edition FPGA's.

https://blackbox.cat/products/blackbox-x16-bcu1525-fpga-system-with-16x-xilinx-bcu1525-fgpas-august-batch

In order to use 16 x GPU's you at once you will need to use NVIDIA crypto mining GPU's (P102, P104, P106), or up to 13 x standard GPU's + 3 x NVIDIA crypto mining GPU's.

The first batch is limited to 100 systems total.
