I would say that ETH has been undervalued significantly for a long while now.
During the bear market, you had ETH under 0.018 BTC which is way below its long term mean given its fundamentals. I think that the reason why it's having such a big bull run even outpacing BTC right now is making up for previous irrational dumps that had its value so low.
I'm long on ETH for sure. With the improved fundamentals you'd expect further, sustained pumps as well in 2020.

It's a new year and also a new decade so I still expect something more from eth. Those changes are definitely coming so if you do believe that eth has a great opportunity, be prepared. if we look at the Ethereum chart now, we also can hope for a new increase in its price. I'm not saying that the price will be 1000-1500 thousand dollars, but in the next few months maybe we will see 220 dollars or maybe if BTC will grow we will see 400-500$
Eth today wasn't forked as far as I know, there were talks about Istanbul being cancelled. I don't know if its really true but if it would make ETH transactions to be faster to solve scalability I'm sure by the sheer number of altcoins under its wings ETH will still go up even though its on POS algo.

if we look at the Ethereum chart now, we also can hope for a new increase in its price. I'm not saying that the price will be 1000-1500 thousand dollars, but in the next few months maybe we will see 220 dollars or maybe if BTC will grow we will see 400-500$

These upgrades will benefit both eth network and eth value over long term, these upgrades just give a sense of satisfaction to the community and supporters of eth that the development is going in right direction and scalability issue will resolve soon, i think eth has been undervalued for over an year now and i strongly think that eth deserves a price over 1k and i am sure it will reach there soon.

I am starting to believe in this, even though people want to fud on pos dilution, i don't think that amount even matters. Just as long as the product works.

I can't believe they actually increased the transaction count to 4 times, however I am pretty sure this is still valid until eth is used for something that is marvelous like the 2017 peak times. If you remember back in the dapp days and that cryptokitty or whatever name it was times you will remember that transactions were clogged like hell and it was horrible times and you had to both wait more and spend more etc etc etc.
So, basically this increase is saying "our regular cliche day is better now" but it is no "code red alert" day at all. They can go for staking right now if they want to and have no problem at all on normal days but if there is another dapp that is superbly wanted by people, they will once again have a lot of trouble as well and this time would be harder because it is staking.

Won't the move to POS be somewhat in slow motion though? Meaning we are talking about 1-3 years... so for the first stage, those who want to get into POS will have to lock up their coins (probably for around a year). So they can't dump their stakes even if they want to.
Assuming they stick with that plan, to me it could play out as an initial rise in price, but expect a dump once coins are released... or possibly a dump somewhat pre-release, as it may get priced in.
If we are talking about logical moves, that is. With crypto who knows, ETH could dump to nothing based on Vitalik sneezing.

I'm a ETH holder since 2018 and I'm still hopeful that we've got to see those green days that we want and with these upgrades the Istanbul fork upgrade is successful but this isn't the most exciting event that everyone is waiting for and you know what is it?The PoW > PoS consensus change.

I am convinced that if Ethereum hardfork succeeds, ETH will be the best investment in 2020. Unfortunately, after so many unsuccessful attempts it is hard to say what will happen this time. We just have to wait and keep our fingers crossed that everything will be fine. When hardfork succeeds and investors regain confidence, the new ATH will be within a few months.
AFAIK it will take a little more time for the new update to be fully functional. But, I guess it is the staking theme that interests the majority in this update anyway. As I understand from most thoughts, everyone thinks that there will be an extraordinary reward in comparison with others. However, as I have looked at a few places, this payout will change between approximately 4-10%. And IMO, expected was more than that.

Look nothing after ethereum hardfork in Instanbul and bitcoin keep stable whit lower price, some time when bitcoin have higher price ethereum can follow whit bitcoin price to higehr, but today although bitcoin can raise whit 7% but ethereum never can do the best for their investor to raise whit higher price again.

Not many people has realizing this big improvement from ETH and i'm sure when the media spread the news and reach more people, ETh will become the best cryptocurrency again and will surpass BTC again, but it's hard to predict because BTC is also will make a good movement this year. I'm sure this year will be the year for cryptocurrency
