a cryptocurrency that is good, will never need to spam all over every single social media to get a little attention.

bitcoin didn't reach 6.5 billion dollar market cap by filling our inboxes with spam about how good bitcoin is.

Actually it did, if you substitute "forum and blog comments" for "inbox." I first found out about Bitcoin in May of '11 or so, through a few blog posts in the then-skeptical Mises Institute's blog dealing with the '11 hack of Mt. Gox. The comments section were filled with Bitcoiners enthusiastically plugging Bitcoin.

I have to say - somewhat regretfully - that they were convincing! I came "this" close to signing up for this forum, but I choked because of "nerd fright" over those security nightmares. And, I was too stinkin' proud to sign up just to ask for help (sigh.) Had I done so, you'd known me by my real name 'cause that's the nick I would have used had I signed up then.

But the point is: although I found their enthusiasm and arguments convincing, other Mises folks did not. Those folks treated the Bitcoin enthusiasts as if they were....spammers.

Moreso in the comments threads of Zero Hedge back in tha day. The goldbugs would angrily try to run any Bitcoin enthusiast out on a rail. I actually saw one named Fonestar who seemed to enjoy them ganging up on him.

You can put on as many pairs of white gloves you like, but before Bitcoin "arrived" it was indeed promoted by comments and posts that came across to a lot of folks as spam.

ETH is about as All or nothing as bitcoin, except it is newer on the scene.
I wouldn't worry too much if you bought high, I expect more bubbles will follow.

The price seems to have hit a floor at the moment, it is much higher than 2 months ago, so we'll just have to see where it goes from here.

bitcoin didn't reach 6.5 billion dollar market cap by filling our inboxes with spam about how good bitcoin is. i still have at least 10 pages of inbox spam on my reddit account all the same b.s. about ethereum and the moon.

it also didn't reach this position by creating bots to make countless new accounts each day spamming the same thing and spreading FUD.

all these things seem to me like desperate pump and dump scheme.

Warning people seems always be FUD, look all these financial institutions are telling the world that we are in a decline ! Its all FUD yes.

You are dreaming if you think ETH could beat BTC in some way.

These people just want the governments to help them to get more cheaper money so that they can make more profit.

The bitcoin dev team also didn't get multi millions in ico funds either. The pile of cash eth devs got nearly forces them to actively develop. Everyone has to keep reality in mind much of the dev work on bitcoin was out of faith in crypto. The lawsuits that would have occurred if the eth team hadn't acted would have been unreal. They had the money to launch the largest marketing campaign of any project.....ever.

According to the lead developer of the Etheruem, the existing funding can support the devlopment for 4-5 years.

There is no "fud".  Eth was launched as a vaporware coin.  It's now transitioned from a vaporware coin to half vaporware, half unsound fundamentals, and during the middle of all this, it was pumped to 1 billion dollars for absolutely no reason with people spamming "omg Eth will be more valuable than bitcoin by the end of the week!".  At least Cisco was actually selling functioning routers during the dotcom bubble.

To top it all off, the same banker shill scumbags that are always spamming "sell all your bags, bitcoin going to 0" in the speculation section daily are constantly spamming that Eth is going to go to the moon.  So you have banker shills trying to attack Bitcoin while pumping Eth.  Thank god Eth is absolutely useless so the bankers will get caught holding a 1 billion dollar bag of turds.  I guess we should thank Vitalik for committing highway robbery on Goldman Sachs.

More FUD.

ProfessionalGoogler put on my Ignore list so his numerous ETH spam threads are greyed out, so I won't bother clicking them anymore. Suggest others do the same. He has nothing to say that is factual.

There is only one thread you need to read, which is Ethereum Paradox. ProfessionalGoogler is afraid to post there, because he knows he has no valid technical argument.

End the FUD!  Roll Eyes I linked it in the OP, learn to read.

Are you really suggesting the Bitcoin development team didn't create some wealth from when Bitcoin was worth less than pennies?

All coins start out as nothing until they gain support and ultimately money to continue development.

Ex.
You don't create a OS (a backbone) for the masses and then expect everyone else to build around it forever - you need to keep up with technology and the pace in which it travels.

Instead on focusing on being a way to transmit money, Ethereum focuses on back end technology that everyone uses -- but no one sees or understands.. Did the population choose for a website to be displayed in HTML? Not exactly. Do they care? Not really. What about currency and how it works?

With Bitcoin you actually have to go out of your way and choose the crypto as money - once you even understand it. Ethereum just wants to run quietly in the background as a developer tool, with no focus on the general public having to decide if they need it or not. This would be up to the geeks/businesses providing cool stuff/services to the masses.

In reality this isn't just about the coin but the development team behind it. I hate to finally join the band wagon on the Bitcoin dev issue topic, but I have never believed in a alt coin before - not even Litecoin - it seems to be a reasonable competitor, though the Ethereum dev team stresses they aren't trying to beat Bitcoin as a form of money.

Each and every day you have more people trying to claim it as a scam coin, a bubble, etc. and then each and every day you have those same people coming back wondering why Ethereum is still around.

I use to always say "Yeah well Bitcoin can do that too!" --but then it never does.. Motivation from the current dev team is lacking..

/end the FUD

ETH GETTING DUMPED HARD!!!!
RUN TO THE HILLS!!!!
Ran out of greater fools?

We missed the ETH train.
Why is this shitcoin getting pumped and added to bitfinex?
I'm thinking about trying heroin.
I could buy that sjit for 2 dolla / corn but missed the train because that shit was centralized.

Ethereum is a billion dollar bubble
It's getting pretty hard for anyone to make the case that Ethereum isn't a giant bubble. What makes this coin worth a billion dollars?

Garage In The Woods Operation
LOL, this is the address of the exchange where 80% of Ethereum ''volume'' is traded.

Idiots getting burned by investing in ponzi scheme, ipo shitcoins and hoping that they can replace legitimate altcoin like Litecoin by spamming and scamming.... HAHAHA

Ethereum Pump & Dump Scam
Prometheus and his pump group are responsible for current Ethereum pump. Prometheus colluded with Ethereum members to obtain insider info about R3 news in December. Fake news posts and shill spam also stem from the group. They plan to dump soon.
