It is a well know thing that Ether is migrating to PoS and each day that passes makes less sense to mine it for profit, but there are many coins out there so it will be good.

there is no exact date for eth changing from POW to POS,,
it can be this year or next year, so, at this moment, just mine eth until the POS date has begin  Wink

Ethereum could be a special case, but are there any POS coins that have managed to retain interest from users? If you remove miners from the economy will Ethereum still be as interesting?

yeah, it's so frustrating. last year there was info, that switching to POS would happen in early 2018, but Q1 of is almost over now.
Know company who just received a big shipment of mining GPUs (without video output ports) for ETH. so they are betting on that with a lot of money.

There is no more fair distribution than mine, and this is not a good decision, and I think it is the reason for the delay.

Ethereum might shift to POS concept at some time in the future. At present there are no updates regarding this, and we cannot comment on our own.

If you are in a way to mine POS currencies you could try mining Dash. But on the contrary, there should be around 1000 dash currencies for you to get an annual return. Currently now each Dash is around 350$ and you need a holding of 350000$ in dash to get an annual return. Dash is not purely a POS, but it works in the way of Staking.

If you are not interested in Dash, try with Neo. Neo along with its own has a additional token known as Neogas. Each Gas is around 15$ each at this time and you could get good returns of you try to mine Neo. You can check your profits with Gas here

OKcash has been another crypto which is rewarding the highest returns to its users when compared to other POS coins. You can get around 10% of annual returns from okcash. Other similar currencies include Nav and Redd coins which follow the POS concept.

Im hearing that from many months too but i think the eth team is shy and confused and they do not want to discourage or disturb the ether miners that have invested big sums to mine eth, so i assume the conversion to pos protocol will not take effect for many months may be years.

If you’re currently looking to buy ETH mining hardware, I’d say go for it. If you do decide to make the purchase, understand you won’t be using it for much longer. When purchasing, make sure the card is able to mine other currencies profitably as well because you’ll have to look elsewhere in the future. Until then, try to rake in as much ETH as you possibly can!

Any POW mining currency is beyond bitcoin.V decided to change the POS mechanism to get rid of bitcoin. The market value of the future beyond bitcoin can only be generated from the POS mechanism coin.

I was going to start mining Ethereum a few months back but I read that there is a possibility of changing to POS and now months later, here we are and people are still mining it so does anyone have an update on this? If yes, is there are any other coins that are worth mining? I can build a rig If I have to.

These talks are talks for long time now. It is certain that ethereum will move to POS, but it will be something like POS+POW combination if I remember well. There is no actual date as far as I know when this may happen. But ethereum is moving towards POS to reward nodes for maintaining the network.

It will not be fast, maybe in 12-18 months, not early. Vitalii Buterin says that he donnot know himself , when it can be.
