What do people make of this development? And possibilities regarding trading.
It's completely open to replay attacks and is unsupported. Gud luck trading on that.

mETH is also open to replay attacks. And i heard rumors of Gregory Maxwell and many other devs actually supporting classic. Can't wait to get my hands on some of those classic tbh.

There is no need to wait, if you support the ETC, you can buy a lot out of exchanges. You can also buy some from the DAO hacker in the future.

Ha, quite a lot has changed since I made this post  Grin
You seemed really happy with the emoji at last did you banked profit in this ETC drama?  Wink
I was unlucky just lost buying at top... Angry

Yep, I did well out of it. I had a weird feeling that day that something was afoot. I didn't expect it to be this dramatic, but I figured I'd go for it.

Aren't both chains susceptible to replay attacks? Unfortunately it's been poorly documented how to protect yourself if you want to participate in both chains (clearly there is an interest by some to make it more difficult than need be). Currently it's not clear who might support the classic chain.

Pretty much how I feel about it. On principle I feel Classic is really what we should be looking at, but money talks and all that.

I think the support is too little for ethereum classic. If they manage to pull it off and get it traded, the value of ethereum and/or classic will have to take a hit as there will be two coins trading on the exchanges.

I think the fork was the biggest clusterfuck they could do, so I would support the ethereum classic chain, but only when exchanges stop trading the fork.

i think it's a noble idea, but most people don't care about nobility. it's gonna be a total obscurity very soon.

Hopefully trading will be available somewhere. Don't expect exchanges like Kraken, Gemini or Coinbase where the CEOs are heavily invested in Ethereum to pick it up anytime soon.

I'd trade ethereum classic only.  Not even touching the piece of Shet hard forked chain.
